Edit: This post was made in error by my brother, I personally don’t think the rep is an issue, but I’ll pass along anything helpful to him.
During the October 11th Q&A, Ion stated that the War Campaign would offer a significant amount of rep when you complete a chapter to catapult you pretty close to the next requirement. I just leveled a new alt and started doing the War Campaign, and I cant help but feel this promise wasn’t followed through.
I finished the first chapter (the one you get when you hit 120 that needs no rep) and when I finished it, I was 1,500 rep away from the next chapter. That didn’t seem to outrageous, so I moved on to the next chapter after an emissary turn in. Now after completing that chapter, I’m now 3,500 rep away from the next one.
I don’t know what Blizzard’s definition of “pretty close” is, but 3,500 does not cut it to me. The wording during the Q&A made it sound like we were going to be allowed to blitz through it at a nice and quick rate. But I’m still hitting the same wall that my main went through. Granted, the wall is not quite as high, but I can’t help but feel this was very misleading.
I’d like to apologize for this frankly dumb post. This was posted by my brother, who didn’t realize my account was logged in instead of his. Let it be known that I have no issue with any of the rep requirements. The only part I’m upset about is now is this forced to have my character plastered on it and I, for some reason can’t delete this post. shrug
The war campaign quests in 8.1 provide 2000 reputation for every turn in. (That is without the human bonus.)
Partner that with the invasion quests that provide 6 quests, each giving 75 reputation, not including any reputation boosts from WQ’s. 450 rep. + The ending quest’s 500 rep. On top of the daily Reputation cache for 7th legion/Honorbound. 1500… You can make a total 4450 reptuation in one go.
There’s a total of 4 war campaign quests; 3 of which are available as of 1/10/19. Netting you 6000 reptuation just from the main series of quests.
Everything you do for 8.1 onward should get you to revered, or about 3/4th through revered if you hold on.
You now also get about 150-250 per quest after the Establishing a Foothold quests in the 8.0 war campaign quests, which is a lil over 1k-2k rep per stage.
So there’s loads of war campaign faction rep to be had, every Incursion quest, every capital city supplies needed quest, donations to the Warfront cycle, the Island Expeditions weekly, mission tables, and every single quest in the opposing faction’s neck of the woods. Plus, there should be bounty quests here and there in the opposing continent that grant rep. And the Warfront WQs, those too.
So I think it’s fine; literally, unless you did the emissary, all your weekly islands, every quest (WQ and non-repeatable Wanted quest) in Kul Tiras, all the Warfront WQs and the Warfront cycle quest from Arathi literally two days into the week’s reset (and it’s Darkmoon Faire to boot), there’s still something to be done.
And 3500 isn’t bad, that’s the emissary and the Island one, plus about a full clear of WQs on the other side. Or you can just watch for the Incursions.
You can edit it to say what you want it to, at least, if that helps. Such as “disregard, rep is fine.” Also, point your brother in the direction of the replies, should be something to help him.
Actually, the 8.1 quests are rep gated as well.
The first chapter can be done at revered.
The second chapter can be done at 7000/21000 into revered.
The third chapter can be done at 14000/21000 into revered.
The fourth chapter PRESUMABLY requires exalted (but, of course, we won’t know for sure until the raid comes out).
