I get that you’re butthurt about Mage, and that a great deal of argument could be made for where Holy Priest could be trimmed, but mana isn’t one of them. I’m constantly having to run for leafs in RBGs, I literally never even drink when I heal on an Rsham/Rdruid in one.

HPriest’s toolkit has barely changed since WoD, but the class was always there as a contender. It just lacked 1 more defensive and 1-2 utilities that we have now under the covenent & conduit system. In Legion, they were strong for the same reason but never a top tier spec; survivability and throughput were always issues in PVP and every other class just outshined them.
Sidenote: Life is ironic you know.
Spent 3-4 years with waiting for them to viable again, but now that they have regained their shine, I have no compunction to play any of my HPriests out of boredom with the spec.
Calling it a 50% damage reduction is accurate, it just has a threshold of whatever the shield absorb amount is instead of a timed duration.
