Wanting to tank in an MMO?

Found this video from late last year about tanking in an MMO and it’s pretty humorous but definitely learned things :thinking:

Tanking isn’t about knowing what your doing but not knowing what your doing and acting confident about it. You can be the best tank but people die, wipes still happen. Can’t always avoid it, so you need to master the blame game by when wipes do happen to shift the blame off yourself as follows:

  • If the DPS dies and that causes the wipe, blame the healer.
  • If Mechanics wipe the group, blame the DPS
  • If you as a tank die first, blame the healer.
  • If everyone else dies and your left standing as the tank, pop all CDs to live as long as possible so you look better but still blame the healer.
  • If a tank mechanic you get wrong causes the wipe and you can’t blame the DPS or better yet the healer, always use your trump card and blame your extra secret group member… LAG!!! That always works.

As a tank, never accept responsibly for your mistakes. Doing that is a sign of weakness which if you wanted that, play a healer instead.

Lastly remember your the tank, the only one in the group who wasn’t expendable to begin with. I mean there is some sort of tank shortage going around from what I understand, so your really the most important part of a group anyway :rofl:

Yes this was all written in good fun. Just found the video entertaining but I’m sure some may take offense or too seriously :rofl: :rofl:

You call it good fun, but this is all facts. If you die it is the healers fault. If the DPS die it’s their fault, and if the healer dies, it’s your fault. It’s a tale as old as the game itself and time has only reinforced this.

Tanking is the highest responsibility job in the game. Nothing even comes close. You are one or two tanks in a raid, and many many DPS and a handful of healers. If something bad happens it can’t be the tank’s fault by laws of averages.

Nope, as per the video, it’s never your fault as the tank. Its either DPS, Healer especially or if all else fails, it’s LAGs fault never your own as the tank. Accepting responsibility is a sign a weakness and if you want, that’s when you play a healer instead :rofl:

If healer dies, it’s tank’s fault.
if tank dies, it’s healer’s fault.
if DPS dies, it’s their own damn fault.
