Started in 8.3 and having fun. but I really want to start focusing on all the older raids/dungeons.
Any BFA dungeons or Raids that can be solod right now?
What about Legion?
Is there a certain spec/ilvl that does it better than others if the above is possible?
Legion is somewhat doable depending on class/gear/raid but you’re not gonna go in and one shot everything and some fights are just straight up impossible. BFA is not remotely soloable.
It’s a known issue that people have actually complained a lot about but Blizzard refuses to address (well, beyond saying they refuse to address it anyway).
Legion dungeons will be fine. Raids, especially Antorus, not so much really. BFA…definitely unlikely

Hm, I don’t think so, but I think rather than look for a site like that, trying the raids or dungeons you want to solo is best, and then go and look for groups or communities that run the stuff you cannot solo. Just my recommendation.
You might be able to solo some BfA 5-mans depending on class/skill. BfA raids, I would say not.
Legion dungeons should be no problem; raids are questionable, depending on which ones and what difficulty level you try. Your mileage may vary.
Yeah, but there is just so much more satisfaction running those solo (at least for me)
I agree, I like running those older raids and dungeons as well. Solo, if possible, so I can AFK at my leisure and whatnot.
But with this stat squish, some of those raids being soloable is just not an option. Particularly the BFA ones.
Yeah, I guess the only real way to tell is to test huh? Would pretty much know right away.
Let me ask you guys, let’s just say @190ilvl, what specs would be the best for doing old Legion/BFA stuff?
I have been solo-ing heroic and mythic Legion and WoD dungeons no problem at level 49. There is only two Mythics I couldn’t do yet because of programmed mechanics of a couple of bosses. The Butcher in Highmaul gets me every time on Mythic solo, but was fine in Heroic. I’m going back in a couple levels and obliterate him though.
I have seen plenty of 55-60 level players solo BFA stuff without too much trouble, but some dungeon mechanics need at least 2-3 players by design.
My druid is able to solo mythic Legion raids and dungeons no problem, probably even easier after patch. BfA…soloing dungeons probably on heroic and lower, but not going to try mythic yet. Not going to try until 9.2 or 9.3.
Balance spec if curious.
I’ve solo’d everything in legion upto Fallen Avatar in ToS. Might be doable at my current IL, haven’t tried in a while.
BFA dungeons are probably soloable, but I wouldn’t expect to be able to solo BFA raids this expansion. Maybe if they come up with something super degenerate like corruptions by the end of SL, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
That said, transmog groups of geared 60s shouldn’t have much of an issue bruteforcing that content, I’d assume.
I’ve been doing Legion dungeons/raids solo as a L50-58 BM hunter with the catchup gear from the Shadowlands prepatch event, and as a L50 DemonHunter with the same type of gear.
Both can do most Legion dungeons easily and heroics & mythics with a bit more trouble, but the Demonhunter has trouble with the Nighthold Raid (normal), and the Hunter won the Sargeras fight but won’t be doing that raid again anytime soon. The Avatar fight took me 5 tries before finally making it (again normal mode). The Seat of Triumvirate dungeon on the other hand went without any problems. Haven’t tried Antorus yet.
Blizzard’s intention seems to be that you can solo older raids and dungeons 2 levels below current content. So as a max Shadowlands character (with endgame gear), you should be able to solo Legion content, and maybe some of the early BfA dungeons. Endgame gear doesn’t have to be Raidgear, the best you can get through professions/AH/questing at max level was usually enough during previous expansions.

3 - Legion
4 - Warlords
etc.
However, some classes and specs have an easier time than others. My BM hunter seems to oneshot things my other alts have more trouble with, and my alts sometimes need to switch specs to have an easier time with transmog runs. Sometimes the tank spec works better (survivability), and sometimes I’m better off in the DPS spec (kill it faster before it can kill me).

BM hunter with ferocity pet for leech is going to be your best bet for soloing legion mythics. You can basically keep yourself alive while dpsing as long as the event doesn’t have phases where you continue to take damage while not having any adds/bosses able to be attacked.
Tanks might be able to solo some BFA raid bosses and can probably do the dungeons ezpz.
Legion is up in the air on solo capabilities. You probably want to be 210 ilvl…maybe idk.
Some fights will be impossible to solo.
Like Hymdall and Hyrja in ToV. You’ll need either a pet or someone else to kite them away from each other.
I am able to go kill the boss in Freehold (mythic) solo each week on a few characters without much difficulty, but the stuff definitely has more HP than you’d expect still. Anything else in BFA isn’t going to be easy solo.
They broke legion raids, they’re much better with a handful of people these days unfortunately. Thankfully there’s almost always a few legacy raids up in queue for quick clears.
Hymdall and Hyrja can be done solo, but you need a leech ability or some kind of healing on a fast cooldown to keep you alive and a whole lot of time. Took me some 30+ mins on my Demonhunter tank with a lot of AoE and a boatload of patience.
Make sure to bring your Heart of Azeroth. It works in the old world and you can come up with some cheesy builds with the cove system.
There are definitely alot you are missing mount wise. If you want, could give some advice on mount farming if you really want into it. Got over 400 mounts last expac and waiting on the new achievement lol
