Want to try fistweaving. Need some guidance

Hello everyone. I want to try healing as a fistweaver but I have very limited experience. A couple of years ago I messed around with druid healing at very low levels (10-25 dungeons) but that was it.

My main monk is a windwalker, but I want this alt to try a different spec. Messed with Brewmaster but I’m not a fan. Really considering giving Mistweaver a go because the dps/healing hybrid sounds fun and engaging unlike a traditional caster healer.

Most YouTube guides I searched for are aimed at M+ and high-end content. The beginner guides are somewhat outdated since the recent changes.

What’s a good beginner guide for the spec? And what addons should I use to make it easier? I remember using Vuhdo back in the day on my druid, is it still around?

There are no addons that make things “easier”. If you want to play a decent monk, I would watch the vids aimed at M+. Once you master that, the open world is at your mercy.

I would say a lot of the battle is just setting up the correct UI for healing, which is a lot more than I can explain and would suggest watching a video on it.

There’s tons of healers that do these types of videos, I would highly suggest yumytv for UI/ healer related things. Very quick, easy to follow.

Written by a streamer called Megasett, was pushing 27/28 keys last xpac.

The most in depth MW guide I’ve ever read and it gets updated regularly.

The guide goes through every single ability and how/when best to use them.

Everything you’ll ever need to know about MW is in this guide. WA/Addon/UI/profiles

If you don’t trust the link just look up Megasett on twitch and get the google doc directly from the streamer.

Edit: Link doesnt work properly just look up Megasett on twitch…under FAQ in the about section it shows you how to download the google doc directly.

Most of the complexity is in the talent build. You’ll want to prioritize anything that synergizes with your attacks.

Use Renewing Mist on cooldown to keep it on your party members, then try to Rising Sun Kick as often as possible. I like using the double Thunder Focus Tea for three kicks in a row, thus spreading Renewing Mist even more.

If I remember correctly, your HoTs will allow your affected party members to be healed by your kicks. So you can do most of your healing through your DPS rotation alone, occasionally throwing out individual heals as necessary.

Of course, a lot of the synergy to do this comes toward max level. You just have to play with the tools they give you early on get the hang of it.

Check out Megasett’s videos. She has a high key background but her mistweaver guides are phenomenal, even a total beginner to the monk class (like me ) can learn a lot from her content.

Just save yourself the pain and dont…

I would suggest getting WeakAuras and creating one to track your Teachings of The Monastery stacks and one that dings when your Ancient Teachings buff is about to fall off.

Also if you’re planning to use Faeline Stomp, the graphic is very misleading for what counts as “Standing in Faeline” so make a Weak Aura to glow when you are standing in it by checking for the buff the talent gives when standing in Faeline.

Hope that helps
