Hey all!
I feel like I am in a slump of enjoyment with the game throughout PvE wise, and am looking to get back into pvp again. Havent really pvp’d since Wotlk the first time around where i really enjoyed random BGs for some reason, I guess because I could just queue up and just play. Arenas stress me tf out so I doubt I would do those.
Was wondering how the state of the game is on classic with random BGs and Wotlk servers as well?
Thanks!
Bad, dont come to the dark side
I’d choose retail. DF is a good expansion with a lot of improvements over SL (previous expansion). Gearing is rather easy, don’t need to do pve stuff for pvp, and the new talent trees are a step up.
The best servers (the most populated) for wrath are locked indefinately so you have less choice on where to play. I’d go with whatever has the biggest population for the faction you are going to play. Pvp servers are almost entirely one faction servers.
Biggest downside in wrath is the widespread botting. Bots have been infesting BGs for months, even at max level. Some of the BGs while leveling have only bot players in them. Mostly DK bots, stacked together, running around on set paths, autogripping anything that gets near and using a few abilities. It’s also funny seeing 5 deathgrips connect to the person that gets in range of the bot ball.
Retail is terrible but better than the worst WoW expac(WOTLK).
For PvP I would choose retail. Unless you really like Wotlk class design. But in my opinion Wotlk just takes a bit too much time. In retail you can level a class in a week or less and earn honor set in a day. Wotlk levelling still takes forever, and gearing takes much longer, and the disparity is huge, honor gear is way behind. Moreover, there are no entry level PvP weapons available in WotlK. Retail has solo shuffle for you to grind arena points, which basically queueable arena. Gear is much more accessible in retail.
