Whats story? If I reactivate wow sub and create char on TBC release, will put start level at 58?
Id come back to WoW for that. Other than that I am not doing the 1-58 thing ever again. I made it to 17 in classic and got bored to tears. Was never a huge fan of vanilla anyways. But TBC? Oh yes.
But again, I do not have the time to devote to meaningless intolerable levels that I had 15 years ago. Id honestly rather go repaint the living room like my wife wants than to level 1-58 again. Already did it too many times.
Blizz should create TBC servers,
allow people to move from classic to them, free,
and let peole create new chars at level 58
Then keep open classic servers and if mass exodous happens, merge, There are a lot of people that just want ‘Classic’ servers and thats all they ever wanted.
I guess you could add Kara for Classic to draw it out some.
I think that is the most unlikely scenario. They’ll either do fresh servers and you’ll have to level from 1 or you’ll be able to transfer your vanilla classic character to TBC and continue leveling. I really doubt they’ll just give a free 58 to start with.
It’s possible. It was one of the options on the original survey, so it’s something that seems to have been considered.
Well, if you don’t have time to level 1-58, I’d be curious what sort of time you have to devote from 58 to 70, and then from 70 through the entire end game.

Vanilla 1-58 is like peeling wallpaper off a bedroom wall so you can paint the walls all because your wife doesnt like the wallpaper. If you have ever done that youd get where I am coming from.
It sounds like MMO’s maybe just arent for you? I want to have a level 60 rogue but I really don’t want to level one and… unfortunately because this is an MMO… that means I don’t get to play a level 60 rogue.
Then you can probably count me and Id imagine quite a bit more others from coming back. There are a ton of old players who would come back for TBC . Especially PvPers.
I’m fairly certain they will release paid character boosts for 1-58 or severely boost the leveling xp (even more than what it already is in 2.2). With TBC there is a huge untapped market of players that want to play TBC but don’t want to go through Classic leveling first. Blizzard would be missing out if it didn’t add somesort of a quick leveling mechanism.
nailed it. I think they should just create brand new TBC servers with chars starting at level 58 upon reation. Leave classic as is and allow free transfers off the classic servers to TBC servers
Zero percent chance that happens. Best you can hope for is they’ll introduce some sort of one per account paid boost. In the entire history of WOW you’ve never been able to just start with an almost max-level character. I really don’t see them starting now
Again, this account is 15 years old. Multiple chars, leveled thru vanilla, in vanilla… Leveled thru every expac on this account. I ran the largest pvp guild on Gorefiend , thru TBC-WOTLK
Im guessing you never bought expacs then because in almost every expac they offered that, starting in WOTLK with DKs being 58. Cata? you got a boost to expac starting level.
The fact that I already did the content originally, many times and do not desire tolevel thru boring, irrelevant, vastly time consuming content to play the re-release of TBC servers?
