I feel like my dps is not good enough, im using BT and WW on cd and trying to time my death wish correctly, but im still under other warriors. Any tips?
Logs if it helps:

First post… looking at the logs now…
Edit: I’m not the greatest at reading logs so others might have more insightful comments… but from what I’m seeing I’d say you’re not doing that bad. The difference between you and #2 DPS isn’t that much. #2-8 are all lumped in the same tier for the most part. You’re all pretty neck and neck. A few tweaks and some RNG might be enough to push you into top 5. You’re #2 on Golemagg with an 88 parse for your item level… so that’s great!
I think gear is mostly your issue, honestly. You’re missing a few crucial pre-raid pieces. Lionheart, Magni’s Will (ring), Satyr’s Bow, Cape of Black Baron, SGC if you can, Bloodmail Boots.
It’s hard to tell from logs because it only tracks what happens in combat, but do you have all your consumes? I noticed Mongoose, but didn’t see Elixir of the Giants or any Juju/Firewater. Blessed Sunfruit… ROIDS… are you using crit stones? Crit stones are expensive but make a huge difference with flurry uptime.
One thing that really helped me was prioritizing auto-attack uptime. Making sure you’re at the front with the tanks and always ready to open up as soon as possible can make a huge difference. Charging is great, but sometimes you get pulled into combat and then walking up to the mob wastes a lot of time. Using potions like FAP and Mighty Rage liberally helps, but it looks like you’re doing that.
DW and Diamond Flask timing could probably be improved, yes.
Start replacing dungeon blues with pvp or raid epics.
Oof, yea your performance is pretty rough, but there’s a number of factors at play. Your gear actually isn’t the worst. It’s not ful pre-bis, but the stats at least make sense.
So with that, let’s dive right in:

I’m using Magmadar as a fight example because it’s a tank and spank. Lots going on in those BWL fights that don’t give us the clearest picture of what’s going on. For Magmadar, warriors literally just sit there, and swing till it dies. Easy to see the big picture here.
You said:
That’s true. You seem to be prioritizing WW over BT based on what I’m seeing on that graph, which is wrong, but in general, I’m only seeing one or two massive gaps in between your ability usage and ability becoming available (no bloodthirst between 45s-57s for example), which is definitely a good sign. Try to tighten those up, and prioritize BT over WW for all ST fights.
The far more impactful, and concerning thing is—what were you doing between waiting for BT and WW?
I don’t see a single Heroic Strike, or a single Hamstring casted.
BT/WW on CD is the crux of Warrior DPS priority, but the next big thing is dumping rage. When you’re at 55 or more Rage, you should absolutely be smashing out Heroics or Hamstrings (probably Heroic since you’re DW on Alliance). Even before 55, you should be queuing and cast canceling Heroic Strike as you weave through your rotation. This is however a bit more involved, and can trip people up.
I would focus on getting your core priority down 100% before worrying about min/max techniques like HS queueing.

I see here you popped a Mighty Rage at the very tail end of the fight—I assume to rip out an Execute?
That’s fine in theory, but it wastes the +Str component of Mighty Rage, because now you aren’t stacking it with your other big cooldowns like Death Wish & Diamond Flask.
Speaking of Death Wish—it was up for 19 seconds out of its 30 second duration, meaning you wasted a full 11 seconds of it, or 36.66% of its effectiveness. That’s a whole lot of extra juice you could be squeezing out of that flat 20% damage done CD!

Based on your Luci fight, I see you did the same thing—presumably saving it for Execute phase—but you’re leaving a lot on the table by doing so. I do see that you Diamond Flasked (if a bit too late to get the full 1m effect), so good job on remembering to swap trinkets before Magmadar.
So with all that said there are a couple things where you need some work:
-
Rotation/Priority: You need to weave in rage dumps/fillers desperately. This alone will probably net you a massive performance increase.
-
Cooldown Management: You need to be more cognizant of what’s available when—and try to get a guage of what’s the best time to use them each fight in such a way that you stack the effects, and still get the full duration of each effect before the boss dies.
Other than that, the only thing left is gear, and that comes with time, so keep at it!
Damn Ragefist… That is freaking awesome feedback.

For raw output I look at fights where it’s mostly a linear tank and spank, so Magmadar (59) and Golemagg (88) in this case. That’s pretty good on Golemagg.
Gearwise, you’ll get the most benefit from weapon upgrades: QS is not a good MH as it’s too fast. Dal’Rends set is the best outside of raids, but picking up a Brutality Blade should really help if that’s available to you. Sub out Ocean’s Breeze for Don Julio’s / Painweaver / Magni’s if you have them. Also try getting Cadaverous Armor / SGC & Baron’s cape. In my simulations Blackhand’s Breadth is better than HoJ below white crit cap, but you definitely check yours out: https ://guybrushgit.github.io/WarriorSim/ is my favorite.
Consumables: Make sure you’re running Mongoose, strength juju, firewater, and dense sharpening stones at a minimum. R.O.I.D.S., Blessed Sunfruit, Elemental Sharpening Stones, Might Rage Potions are some additional ones you can run if you have time and/or cash.
Rotation: Your BT and WW seem to be pretty much always on cooldown which is great. If you’re not HS cancelling you can experiment with that and try throwing in some more HSs if you have extra rage. When you hit Death Wish you should do it a little sooner so you get the full benefit. Same with recklessness, looks like you missed 3s of it.
You dont even have any world buffs yet some of your guildies do.
Keep in kind that world buffs are more significant and powerful than any loot upgrade you can get.
Ony buff, DM buff, Songflower essentially turn even blue weapons into legendaries. 340 AP and 10% crit is the most important thing you can do. The other most important thing is timing your cooldowns correctly, which Ragefist touched on. If you don’t have perfect bloodthirst CPM, it’s not the end of the world. That is important, but it wont have as big an effect as proper buffs, consumables and cooldown execution.
Make sure you are using crit stones as well on both weapons since you are alliance.
The rest is mostly what Ragefist said.
Also, it’s possible to get 99s even without world buffs, and I’ve done it before, so it’s not required but that depends on your guild kill times.
While this is true, I remember when I had similar gear to his that my rage generation wasn’t always good enough that I could dump rage on a consistent basis.
I suspect he’s having that problem more-so than forgetting to dump it with HS.
Learned so much from this reply, thank you sensei
Your rage generation will go up if you have world buffs and high crit chance.
Also, you should pool rage before fighting bosses so you can do a proper rotation at the beginning of the encounter and even throw in a few HS, which will also help your rage generation by removing miss penalty on OH. That will have a cascading effect on the rest if the fight.
Note, however, that that depends on how fast your guild pulls and how fast the boss dies.

Damn.
We have a potential first MVP poster for classic right here.
Ya but as long as he’s using all the consumables, that’s a gear issue for the most part. Not everyone can get world buffs due to a variety of reasons. Super casual, PvP server etc…
Thanks for the answer, appreciate! Sure it will help me a lot.
1-yeah, im always pressing WW first, my bad!
And i was thinking about HS, but i was afraid not having rage for BT, but ill give a try.
2- I just joined a new guild so im still figuring out our kill times, its still hard for me to use 100% of death wish.
Thanks! Im gonna try to get more consumes for next week, about the ring im farming AV rep so 1 or 2 weeks before a can get it.
You sir did an amazing job breaking that down!
Here’s another thing… looking just at the Magmadar fight I’m noticing a few things…
WW only netted you 1.5k damage over that entire fight. This is obviously because QS’s top end sucks so you’re losing a lot of damage on WW. But I get it… you gotta use what you have. It might be better for you to try prioritizing HS more instead of WW on single target fights though until you can get a better weapon. It might make a difference with HS queue.
Your flurry uptime was also quite low. Do whatever you can to get more crit, whether it’s consumes or gear. Flurry uptime is holding you back. If you’re not using crit stones, I would start. They’re easy to farm if you don’t have the cash.
I’m not seeing any Elixir of Giants or Juju and Firewater in your logs. Are you using them? I did notice an Elixir of Greater Agility, which doesn’t stack with Mongoose as I’m sure you know. I wouldn’t recommend ever using it over Mongoose. If $$ is an issue, you can cheap out on other things, but not Mongoose. It’s too important.
I don’t think rotation is your problem, honestly. On the Magmadar fight your first Bloodthirst was dodged but you did actually use it first. And at 52 seconds where you missed a Bloodthirst, it was also dodged. So you didn’t actually miss it. But you’re using a lot of rage on WW which isn’t giving you much damage on single target fights. I’d work in HS more into your rotation until you can get a better weapon.
TLDR: In my opinion, gear and consumes will probably net you the biggest increase in DPS at this point. I’d focus your efforts there.
Cheers!
Some awesome writeups in this, I would also point out that in your parses you vs your top warrior its telling that you could use a little more hit, but that comes with gear.
You’re missing quite a few attacks on auto swing, and your crit rate is lower than your top warrior by ~5%, so that could be world buffs.
Some light upgrades on gear, world buffs and a better main hand and you’re in shape…
Also don’t forget to heed the advice of the rotational breakdown they gave you above it’s really good!
Came back to say, last week I parsed 89 (second in dps) with your tips! Just wanted to thank you!
Happy to help! Glad to see the improvement
