The game is fine, and I’m still trying to catch up on everything they’ve added since launch.

I mean, if the goal was to ensure people actually stayed subbed for 6 months, shouldn’t everyone who remained subbed for 6 months get the boat in the mail anyway?

The way the promotion worked was:

  1. You could buy a 6 month game time sub and get a free Dreadwake
  2. If you had your Credit Card details saved for renewal and you were set up for a recurring 6 month sub on a particular date you got a free Dreadwake

If you were like me and:

  1. Had used game time via tokens until 2021; or
  2. Had a child’s account, and so took the Credit Card details out

then you did not recieve the mount and had to buy the 6 month sub to get the mount, or wait until it hit the shop to buy it.

I’m curious on your data here where you claim “majority”. Is there a poll that was done? A survey given out that I missed? Something that was distributed to the entire Warcraft community and the results were shown publicly?

Just an assumption on the observation of the more than usual “Sorry guys, game’s not fun and I can’t play anymore” threads as well as the “I can’t find anyone to do ______ with” and “Why are que times so insanely high?”

Just happy it was not a “Get a 6 month sub NOW” thing, cause I had like a month left on my sub when the promotion came out and I really didn’t care to sub for another 6 months.

You know, not that i’m complaining about the dreadwake, i passed on it intentionally cause i already wasted money on a boat mount (and buying the dreadwake would be a waste of time anyways considering my boat has two seats. Not to mention, it doesn’t look all that interesting to care about), But what’s with the defense of something being free lately? is it to imply that just because something it’s free, means it’s not valid to criticize or complain about?

Don’t get me wrong, i like free things… most free things, i avoid the mobile market like the plague, despite having free stuff on there. But things being simply free (which often come with strings attached) don’t make it immune to complaints or criticisms people will have. It’s like if i make a movie, put it on the theater, have the ticket price be free for that movie, and the movie is just basically me eating cereal for an hour and a half while watching paint dry.

Yea there is no way Id commit to a 6 month sub the way this game has been heading since WOD. Also I don’t think you could use wow tokens to get that mount which is what I have used since they were a thing.

Yes it was. No one paid money for the mount. They paid for their sub.

Theount was never advertised as exclusive. They said it would be in the store later. It was just a free perk for those who would pay for six months.

Now we’re comparing apples to shoes? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I had a good feeling that this was, generally, where you were getting your opinion from. There’s only one issue with this, though.

If you were to take into consideration all the players that actively participate on social media in terms of actually posting you wouldn’t have enough of a considerable percentage to come close to a “majority” opinion. You can combine all posts from sources like these forums, Twitter, and even Reddit into a single metric: you still wouldn’t come close to a “majority”. The reason being is that, of the entire Warcraft Community, a very, very small percentage actually makes the effort to come to the forums and post.

A more accurate statement for your case would be a “majority of forum posters”.

I don’t know or have access to how many active WoW subscribers actually post on the forums. Even if it’s just a single post, it’s my best guess that less than 15% of the entire Warcraft community participates and that’s being generous. Granted - of that 15% one can say that there’s a designated percentage that complain or feel there’s something wrong / missing / broken in the game.

If you have Angler’s rep and purchase the inflatable mount shoes (cuz boats wear shoes right?) and forgo the no daze or parachute options.

Or you could have skipped 6 months of subscription time then purchase the boat for $25 and save money.
