When thinking about this did you also want spell ranks to be nerfd so that ranking up is virtually useless the same way that attack ability ranks give very little benefit? Did you think that some abilities shouldn’t get to scale, just do the damage they do?
Or did you just want the best of both worlds cuz you care about superiority not about fairness?
Right now your spell power items have a lot of stats on them specifically because they do different things.
Look at items with attack power, basically none of them have additional stats.
If you want stats to also boost your damage along with spell power then all your items that give INT+SP are going to have the INT removed from it.
Also doesn’t INT give spell crit? So it lets you cast more abilities which is more dps and gives you higher crit chance which is more dps.

Because that’s exactly what happened to Wrath gear when Int started giving Spell Power in Cata. All the Spell Power was removed from the gear.

No thanks. New runes already scale insane 1:1 vs a .20 mod like base classic abilties with SP. Don’t need everyone being able to nuke and sustain. Nice try though… go get shadow/nature/holy/fiery wrath greens if you want to play like that.
No. Wrong expansion. Spellpower was still on weapons and a crucial stat in Cata, MoP and WoD.
Legion removed SP as a stat.
Allow me to clarify: In patch 4.0.1 Spell Power was removed from Wrath Gear except weapons, trinkets, and gems.
That’s great, but the final raid of each phase shouldn’t be the only source of gear for casters. It would be nice if they could get relevant gear outside raids too, like melee can.

The problem with warriors is how they scale.
You add in all the op gear SOD has introduced and of course warriors are going to be on top of the dps meter.
I dnt think people have a problem with warriors being on top, it’s more about how far they are ahead that’s the problem.

Thing is. mages arent aoe farming players in PvP.
But hunter pets were 1v1’ing every player in the game with no input from the actual hunter player.
Yes PvP balance makes a huge difference in what runes get nerfed and which ones doesn’t. So don’t be deliberately disingenuous
Hunters disagreed with completely gutting the only viable playstyle while basically giving us no interesting runes to make the gameplay different.
But if you dont care about being correct, just feeling right, then continue!
I mean a pet literally 3 shot me in wsg yesterday even after all the nerfs, granted i had zerking so a staggering 10% dmg buff to the pet.
It takes every melee class in the game longer to kill me on avg than it does 1/3 to 1/5 of the hunter’s toolkit.
