I think wands should be the new weapon for the new Evoker class as they haven’t been useful since WotLK. I think it would amazing to see Evoker either dual wielding Wands or just one wand with an offhand as well since those haven’t been useful recently either. If you agree or disagree what reason and if you disagree what weapon should they use?

hi, so I’ve been a huge advocate for wands being an effective weapon in this game for several reasons.
One being that they’re a core fantasy weapon - almost as staple as a sword is to warrior or hammer is to paladin. Plus, in warcraft 3, there’s several wands used in the game, including some heroes that wield them (Like the Orc’s Far seer).
I also think they are interesting from an art perspective - we’ve seen staves and swords evolve into reallly beautiful pieces of virtual art over the years - but it reallly does feel like wands got the shaft. No reason they’re not useable, unless it’s some sort of balance issue - since they’re convenient dps for ranged casters…maybe blizz wants most of a caster’s dps to come from their spells not a weapon idk. 
either way, they’re missing out on making great transmog art.
As far as evokker goes, I’m not a fan of the class - but it would certainly be awesome to see them with wands as their “main” weapon. I think most casters already feel too similar in our weapon combos…the only unique one is mage/locks who can use swords.
Evoker with wand would be a great idea to re-introduce them back into the fantasy world.

Yeah honestly a lot of miss opportunity if Wand isn’t the Evoker main weapon imo. The Wands need some love I was think maybe Dual wand for the DPS spec then Wand and offhand for the healing spec.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they functioned with the weapons hidden in their Dracthyr form. It’s also funny how Monks have their weapons permanently strapped to their backs unless it’s a fist weapon.

God no… If they put wands back on the table then all casters suffer. Unless they do something about the way they function and open its transmogrify restriction to non-wand weapons.
Don’t get me wrong, I like wands, I just hate getting them and then the game forcing me to separate from my knife wife if I wanted a weapon upgrade.

yeah i agree…if wands ever do come back - i’d want them to function in some unique way too. The weapon should be treated with a little touch of fantasy (in its design).
One function I liked about WoW-wands was that the damage type of projectile was relative to the school of magic the wand belonged to (which made some of them very powerful). I think today - that could find some use - especially with upcoming talent trees for casters like the Evoker.
And I think the second part of that quote i agree with you on - i wish transmog was less restrictive when it comes to some weapons.

I wouldn’t mind seeing wands come back but I think that Evokers are the wrong class to do it with, because their powers come from their blood (that’s why they’re race-locked). They are the one magic using class that shouldn’t be relying on tools for their magic (although for game balance purposes I’m sure they will still get INT from the weapon slot).
Let wands come back for mages or warlocks, instead.
