How do you actually get credit for attending the Wanderer’s Festival for the Trader’s Post achievement?

Wowhead comments say you have to be there for the closing or opening ceremony. That festival is one of the worst implemented ones, imo. I’d skip it.

there’s nothing consistent about this for the Traveler’s Log purpose… we should have some means of attendance throughout this 1-day event and we’re not getting it… there’s not any clear instruction or means to interpret this. Thanks Blizz… you did it again… Great work… /s

Check your calendar. Just have to be on the southeast beach of Krasarang, by the statue, at a certain time to see the turtles arrive.
It’s only tomorrow, by the way.
and what time would that be? one source says we just need to be on the beach at 03 and 23 minutes after each hour but “everyone” seems to believe we had to be on the beach at 12:03am server time last night… Nobody seems to know the correct answer. For this to be posted as a Traveler’s Log event for 100 points - it’s not working well.

Talk to the wandering herald where the event takes place. He gives you the time. I believe it’s during sunset during the game, for like an hour or so. Or maybe twilight. I haven’t done it in years.
Yeah, I googled it and saw those replies but they were from when it was current content and a different achievement. I was hoping this was different so I didn’t have to remember to show up for an opening or closing ceremony. Thanks.

I’m starting to think that the wandering herald is bugged, I was at the event for over a hour this morning and he never showed up, so I didn’t get credit for the event. I checked back in at the next hour and same thing. There where several other npcs there so I was able to get the other travels log where you launch a lantern and read the sign, but not the one for the event itself.
I was able to get the 75 points for launching the lantern & reading the lore scroll there at the beach. It seems like the 100 points for attending the festival might be tied to the opening or closing of the event though. That would mean being at the beach at just before midnight server time to complete it.

The event is happening right now. I’m also a little clueless on when it ends, however. The calendar doesn’t say.
It also occurs every Sunday for about an hour.

The achievement and battle pet would be cool too…
Funny how people are saying it occurs every Sunday, but a good amount of information out there seems to point to this single Sunday in December.
It appears that the festival has been converted from a weekly event to a yearly mini-holiday? (today only?)
There is scroll and small paper lantern on the ground in front the statue which gives you an extra action button. Read the scroll then go down to the shore and use it on the water and you will get credit in the traveller’s log.
Oops … hmm … I got a little popup message, but it didn’t register in the log? Oh, I see, I’m slow on the uptake today … there are two different tasks in the log, one for the lantern (got it), one for “attending” (didn’t get it).
(I waited to see if the ceremony popped up on the hour … it didn’t … waited until time ran out, nothing … so … hmm … well, I guess I still don’t quite understand what’s going on here)
this event is garbage, no one seems to know exactly how to get the achievement, and no mod will reply with a definite answer. Another year gone…

I talked to the npc and they gave me an achievement but will have to go back and look at thd log to see if that counted for it
