where do the effect coem from?

Wake of Ashes was the old Ashbringer active ability from Legion, and Ashbringer was a holy sword that was meant to be very specifically anti-undead—like the “good” counterpart to Frostmourne.

Since it was supposed to be anti-undead, they needed to the ability it provided some anti-undead flavor, so they had it stun demons, undead, and maybe one or two other enemy types.
