I really feel like it’s not a talent problem whatsoever, I think it’s just a tuning thing. Dh really just needs a sustained damage buff outside of cds.
I actually disagree with that. Big incap is good for sure, but small incap allows freely-chained fear/clones/sleeps, so there are for sure matchups where small incap is really good.
I wouldn’t mind the two incaps being on a choice node, though!
Im all for buffing ww, dk, and dh damage, but ww is for sure better than DK and DH. Ww is at least super tanky and can stay in to functionally do its damage.
Not saying ww is great atm by any stretch of the imagination, it’s just that dh is for sure the worst and dk isn’t far ahead.
Clearly states DH slightly ahead WW. Also top 1% DHs have a tiny bit better average rating than the top 1% for WW. Or take Drustvar. When I combine both regions and look at top 500 in 3vs3, WW is the worst melee spec, behind DH.
Nearly same picture in Shuffle. While WW has more than double as many spots on 1800+, which speaks for a lot larger player base, this lead shrinks to 2 spots on 2400+.
But not worth it the energy to fight it out, which spec is exactly more trash. Buff boths!
I think that was because there are several more DH alts that are inflating their rep. Idk any ww alts high rated, but croces and mvq both have 3 dhs each and couch has 2.
22 vs 21 alts, but 19 vs 14 accounts. So you are both right I guess. The difference is bigger than it seemed due to alts from the same people, but should be a lot bigger to hold the difference to 1800+.
I do agree with freestregion, though, when they said:
No point trying to figure out who has it worse, they’re both lacking in kill pressure. Ww is more survivable, but with less burst and dh has better burst with worse survivability, but neither has meaningful sustained damage.
I fought some ww/sp the other day and ww/outlaw and it was wild how I could literally just tank the ww and line his teammate and never lose.
No class/spec should have a melee on them with 100% uptime and not feel worried, and the only melee specs that can do that atm are feral/sin/fury.
Darkness only gives a chance to dodge, its way to RNG and requires you to be stationary (as a class that requires mobility to deal damage). Blur is a nice defensive but loses a lot of its damage reduction in a stun or vs casters. Netherwalk is a nice immunity but unlikes pally defensives you can’t dps with it. The feather in the cap is the removal of PvP talent Imo aura causing DH’s to sit in snares as free dps targets and the loss of their most important tool in mobility
whats broken about having def cds off GCDs? like 95% of the defs in the game are off global cooldown.
the only other notable exceptions are iceblock and bubble. netherwalk functions like turtle does for hunters, only turtle is longer with no GCD. And has talents to reduce it’s CD.
