"Waiting on another update" "Initializing"

Can you get your little program to actually update things instead of constantly getting stuck and having to try to troubleshoot for hours to get into the game because it refuses to just let you play the game even on a monday - because for some reason you can’t push updates on Tuesday only?

It would be great if I could play this game without an issue a single day.

Couple doothingies that work for me sometimes.
Pausing initialization and restarting it sometimes works.
Clicking on the Options gear wheel next to the play button and selecting " scan and repair", sometimes allows the update to go through, but takes 20 minutes off your life.

Having the same issue all of a sudden. Bnet thinks there’s an update, but just gets stuck in an infinite loop of queued → initializing → queued. Tried scanning and repairing but it just fails about 2% in and throws an error code at me.

I tried every suggestion on the internet short of reinstalling windows itself. I deleted Addons and WTF, I use task manager to end all bnet and wow related programs, I even rebooted my PC multiple times. Tried booting into safe mode and updating there, same issue. Tried deleting the bnet folder in program data, same issue.

Nothing I try seems to work. And you know what the real kicker is? If I bypass bnet and just launch the game application directly, it loads just fine and lets me play the game, so clearly it doesn’t actually have an update.

EDIT: the error code I get is BLZBNTBNA00000006

EDIT EDIT: I got it to work… I did two things different this time, not sure which one fixed it as I did both simultaneously.

First, I reset my WMI Repository using CMD prompt, then I did a windows update. It said I was up to date already but I forced it to check again and it found a .NET framework update and so I installed that as well and restarted my PC. One of these, or both of them, seem to have done the trick. What a pain.
