Wait... So why aren't Nightborne and High Mountain Cows not for both sides?

Alliance and Horde both work to save and restore them to glory. So why aren’t they an allied race for both factions?

First you take our Blood Elves.

Now you want our Night Elves and Cows?

'cuz I’ll take that trade if we get Dark Iron Dwarves.

You can’t have our women.

Short answer: tyrande screwed up in the suramar campaign by constantly holding back and being antagonistic compared to liadrin who went all in and provided empathy.

Long answer: see above but with more words

Why did the lightforged side with the alliance when the horde was on argus too? (I think. We never actually saw any horde there)

Why did the void elves join the alliance? They were members of the horde after all.

Why did mechagnomes side with the alliance? The horde helped them reclaim their home.

Why did maghar join the horde? The alliance helped get rid of their legion problem.

The simple answer is that blizzard said so :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. Mayla wants to smash Baine, decided to kick rocks for 7 years while hoping he notices. (he hasn’t because he’s Baine)
  2. When the Nightfallen needed help, Liadrin was like “Hey homies, I know the stuff you’ve gone through is rough, here’s our support network for you,” while Tyrande was like “I haven’t forgotten about 10,000 years ago, I’ll help because I have to, but screw you guys.”
  3. Thalyssra wanted to smash Lor’themar, instead of kicking rocks for 7 years she smashed him so hard they’re married now.

I’d gladly trade nightborne if we get nightfallen…

Nightborne had something of a spat with the night elven leadership combined with developing a friendship with the blood elves because the two races were closer culturally. The former was just the push they needed to align with the Horde fully.

Highmountain are just tauren blessed by a Wild God, it makes more sense for them to align with their plains-dwelling kin who reached out to them after the Legion’s defeat than with the faction that didn’t. It’s no different from Lightforged and mechagnomes joining the same faction as their parent races despite the Horde helping them, too.

Tyrande said a mean thing and wanted Thalyssra to assure her that she didn’t want to turn into Azshara 2.0, therefore everything the Alliance did to help the Nightborne flew out the window.

Baine was nice to Mayla and Ebonhorn so the Highmountains signed on with the Horde because SURELY EVERYONE IN IT WAS LIKE BAINE, RIGHT?

I put so much effort into saving suromar just for them to kick me in the nuts and burn my tree down. They we’re the villains all along

Lore wise the highmountain stuff was supposed to have more Baine since he ends up with the chieftain. But that got cut.

For Nightborne, Tyrande was incredibly rude to them while Blood Elves were just “Hey I’ve been there dude. Addiction sucks let me help you.”

I don’t think the nightborne were part of the horde yet. Sure we could unlock them but that was just part of the “oh unlock them early if you want” thing.

You can have the Highmountain cows, exclusive to alliance, but only if you also take Vulpera. Deal has been completed, no take backsies.

I play both factions, and I have always favored alliance. Never put the cows or nightborne in Stormwind. Yuck!

All the allied races should have been alliance, except for the Mag’har. Filthy Orcs.

Bruh. Allied race order is Nightborne > Mag’har > Zandalari > else.

If we are doing more race exchanges after y’all stole our elves, I’d like worgen please.
