Wait so... old reps are NOT accountwide now?

All my old reps are exalted on my old main, from classic to BFA, but on my main of the past 2 years they are not exalted. I thought they said reps were now warbound and accountwide?

My Dragonflight renown appears to be account wide currently…

Warband-Wide Reputation
Once The War Within launches, most new and many Dragonflight reputations will become Warband reputations.

When you have a Warband reputation, any progress you make on one character will be shared with all your characters. Rewards will also be unlocked for all characters, although the form this takes will vary per reward. Warband-wide rewards will be granted only once, while some rewards will remain character-specific and need to be collected on each character.

Once a reputation is converted to Warband-wide, reputation progress will display as the furthest that any character in your account has achieved. If you were at Renown 5 for Valdrakken Accord on one character and Renown 10 on another, your new Warband Valdrakken Accord Renown will be 10.

We opted for the furthest progress earned because, for many reputations, progress is not earned evenly. You can earn a lot of front-loaded reputation from doing campaigns and other one-shot quests. The thought behind this was that if we added all the reputations earned across all characters together, this would create an unfair advantage for players who play many alts over those who spend their time on one or just a few characters.

Here is the full list of converted reputations from Dragonflight:

Renown
Dragonscale Expedition
Maruuk Centaur
Iskaara Tuskarr
Valdrakken Accord
Loamm Niffen
Dream Wardens
Standard
Wrathion & Sabellian
Cobalt Assembly
Artisan’s Consortium
Azerothian Archives
Soridormi
The few reputations we opted not to convert, including Winterpelt Furbolg and Glimmerogg Racer, were due to not fitting within the fantasy for those reputations. Winterpelt Furbolg has a language learning component that doesn’t make much sense to be shared across characters, and the Glimmerrogg Racer reputation feels more like a personal standing in the snail races than an actual reputation that should be shared. These are also minor reputations that wouldn’t be as impactful Warband-wide.

When it comes to future conversion of reputations, the current plan is to work backward into older expansions, converting many old reputations over time. As it’s a time-consuming effort, it will take a while to implement. Similar to reuptations within Dragonflight, there will also be a limited number that won’t be converted, usually this will be because it doesn’t make sense from a fantasy perspective or because it involves a character-specific choice. For example, Aldor and Scryer in the Burning Crusade and the Covenants in Shadowlands won’t be converted because they represent per-character choices.

No They said all DF reps would be and all reps going forward ( with a few obvious exception where the thing is a character based , like Gladiaator) and that the rest would be added over time -this was said a Blizzcon when feature was announced . edit – Kozzae explained it far better above

Thats in now – you can still only mog your armour type but everything a character now collects goes into your appearance tab --like any plate I collect for example will now go in

Man what a disappointment, so weird to half measure implement a feature.

They made Dragonflight reps/renown account-wide, and The War Within reps/renown will be account-wide. They’re going to back-fill the old expansions (Shadowlands and earlier) over time.

Not everything unfortunately. The class specific crap from early WoW doesnt. They said that was a work in progress iirc.

They explicitly said (multiple times) that old reps won’t be available in the beginning, only the Dragonflight ones. Buckle up, it’s going to be a long ride but we’ll eventually get there too.

Just highlighting this one for people still working on professions. There are A LOT* of profession points that are pretty easy to get (basically catch-up points), and there are some unique patterns too, but it required a high rep with Niffin.

This will remove that barrier.

gg!

I sure hope I don’t have to wait too long, like, another expansion, to avoid grinding transmog pattern reps more times.

Someone struggles with their listening skills I wager.

Dragonflight reps are account wide and all War Within reps will be account wide. Older reps will be added as account wide reps over time and with no guarantee all reps will ever be account-wide.

The only disappointment here is people’s inability to read.

THey never said they would be… Maybe learn to read the articles before popping the whine bottle on the GF.

They said they’ll start off with Dragonflight & moving forward with the following expansions, and in due-time — They will later work to see such features upon earlier expansions too.

They urged that a few times to prevent any confusion and provide clarification.

They literally said they’re starting with DF reps and working backwards over time.
