Well to be fair, they knew it was going to be discovered. They are well aware of the degree and level of detail that goes on with data mining. So they didn’t have to hold a press conference to word out about the change. They just had to wait a day for someone to find it.
The interesting question is if the painting is so unknown (and I would love to see someone find an actually complaint about it), why even bother. It’s not like it was some lude painting. You see more “skin” in SW. This is a case of Blizzard shooting themselves in the foot when they didn’t need to.

If they wanted to make these changes, how should they have done it? In your opinion.
Exactly where did I say I was mad again? How about you actually read what I post instead of what that voice inside your head is telling you I said?
I am fine with them making changes, but not all changes are good or even necessary. Like I said, there is probably 100 things the art team could been doing but instead they waste their time upon stuff like this? So they have fixed all the ear/hair clipping thru head gear? No more armor models stretching and tearing? All the old out dated armor mogs have been updated? I mean there are tons of quality things they could be doing, this change it the type of thing you do when you have nothing else left.

Not trying to start a fight but you should perhaps refrain from jumping to conclusions.
Just because somebody disagrees with something that happened doesn’t mean theyre irate about it. For something as vile as sexual harassment, they havent convinced me and other people that is even a way to combat it.
At best I feel it’s misguided, and at worst a cynical way to do nothing while looking like you are doing something.

I have worked in CS industry all my life and while being nice to your CS rep is the right thing to do because we are human, but the people here shouting into the void that is GD is far from getting angry with tech support over the phone or yelling at your local barista because they spelled your name wrong on your soy latte.
I haven’t seen anyone on this forum say “HEY YOU CUSTOMER SERVICE REP OR PR REP YOU SUCK BECAUSE OF ALL THESE THINGS HAPPENING OUTSIDE OF YOUR CONTROL.” Usually they refer to blizzard as a company or blame the devs that actually push out the changes.
People are allowed to voice their opinion on something they don’t like happening to something they do like. Though I will say for a paid service it is much louder to speak with your wallet, but as a fan of WoW I would rather them not have to cut costs because of people quitting over something like this.
Anyway your whole emotional argument trying to compare whats going on to how CSR’s are treated sometimes to how people are voicing their disdain of changes blizzard is implementing is frankly disgusting.
But please do have a wonderful rest of your day and thank you so much for posting in order to stir up more drama.

Have you not seen the player response to all this and how they feel about it? The paintings have been in the game since the beginning. Why now are they suddenly being changed? People are concerned about the direction WoW is going. WoW is a fantasy world. If that feeling of fantasy immersion is interfered with some people may not want to continue to play the game and find one that they can have that experience with.

Yeah, I agree there are better things. I don’t know why tf they did this, but it’s not the end of the world. I mean, we had waves of threads day after day on these forums.

Yes, I also wish they’d spend more time on PVP and have never seen these paintings before. But the amount of threads we got for a data mined change? I don’t know who raised you people but my old man would told me to stop acting like a child.
So you can falsely attribute emotion and when someone tells you that you are wrong about it, then it is their problem?

Now on the other hand you do seem a bit upset. What are you contributing by going after people who do not like Blizzard changing the game like this? What is your end game here besides stirring the pot?

Being able to voice your opinion does not have anything to do whether someone paid for anything. It is about being a free human being.
EX- I do not have to pay anything to voice my opinion that I think your IQ is the same number as room temperature water.
See it’s easy? No payment required or entitlement that comes with some monetary exchanges. I had also mentioned in my post that people can voice with their wallet implying that yes no one is forcing anyone to be here.
I really think you are just here for the attention as you don’t really add anything to the conversation happening on these boards. You either post in bad faith because you want the game to fail or just aren’t all that bright.
