Blood Elf “buns” are an embellishment on the word “flatbread”.

Correct me if I’m wrong … but isn’t Mordor land-locked?

Sure, but if you can get to the coast, you could get a lot closer to Mordor by ship much easier. You can almost sail to Minis Tirith (the Corsairs of Umbar, for example). this would have avoided the Misty Mountains and the Gap of Rohan

But as the video explains, it wasn’t practical for the Fellowship.

Mountains. The route they took kept them under mountains and in dense forests which shrouded them from the Eye of Sauron up until just when they got to Sauron’s door.

The whole point of so few, inconspicious, and slow moving folks as were chosen was so that Sauron wouldn’t see them coming. Eagles or a ship are easily spotted, but 5 people creeping through the countryside are just sort of average for that setting, what made things difficult is that Sauron could sort of sense the proximate location anyways of whoever is wearing the ring. He knows what town they’re even in, just not WHERE (in town) and WHO.

Bold of you to assume they don’t have pirates

Corsairs of Umbar were pirates.

Sauron also expected whomever had the ring would use it. Rally forces and contend with Sauron directly.

The idea that the ringbearer would instead attempt to destroy the ring never crossed his mind.

It’s why when Aragorn marched on the Black Gate, Sauron fell for the trap, thinking Aragorn had the ring. Not to mention this was after Aragorn used the Palantir to challenge Sauron directly (I don’t remember if that was in the movie). Sauron had no idea that Frodo was literally in his backyard until Frodo was almost at Mount Doom.

Pretty sure it was and it was when Aragorn showed off his new main hand weapon
