I spent the morning dodging hordes of tourists on my mountain bike.
why would there be tourists?
I still have 2 hours and 7 minutes to next year at my place.
I double and triple checked the time to make sure…
Because it is still summer there.

I was riding a bike path along the beach, its summer, many people are on holidays, it’s new years days and everyone and their dog was out and about.

Our days are getting longer now, but yours will be getting shorter. 
or - depending on which half of the earth you are currently occupying. As I noted to my friend that lives just outside of Perth a few hours ago.

I’m not complaining, its too hot for the next 2 months or so, before it cools down to a nicer temperature.

I was out running errands on the moto today and it was about 7 C. I was cold. So I am researching heated motorcycle gear.
We used to have really nice summers in the PNW. (Shhh don’t tell anyone.) Now it seems we have hotter drier summers. Breaking 100 f (38 C) used to be a rare event. Now we get a week or two of heat every summer.
I think you guys had some super heat in central and west Australia last week? That will kill me. Can’t take the heat. Do you get heat with humidity? Or is it a dry heat?

We do get the humidity here, it’s subtropical, it got to 32 Celsius the other day.
