However, if you do use alcohol, be careful about putting it into a sauce and straight into the over.
I learned the hard way that putting bourbon into the bourbon chicken sauce and into the oven means exploded over and a nice cheery fire on my chicken.
BOOM! Oven door swings open, bounces shut again.
I see chicken on fire, open door. Spouse goes: Close the door, oven can take it and it’ll burn up the oxygen.
I close the door, fire goes out. I go away.
BOOM. Door blows open, slams shut. I wait for fire to die down, take chicken OUT of the oven.
Was an entertaining day.
