In other news, 5000 year old wine found in Egyptian tomb, I wonder what it tasted like ?
vinegar probably
“It tasted like 5000 year old Vinegar.”
/giggle
What it tasted like 5000 years ago before it oxidised and evaporated lol.
“The most common was Nebit Shamsi. It was made from imported raisins and honey and left to ferment in the sun (hence the name, which roughly translates into “sun wine”).”
“So Honey Mead?”
/smile
Technically “honey mead” is redundant
“Fine. NOT Honey Mead.”
“I was just being silly.”
/pout
“How is Honey Mead redundant?”
All meads are made out of honey
“But not ALL Meads are made with JUST Honey. That is why Honey Mead is a real thing.”
Yea we go with that
Very dry
I will wait till time travel is possible and go back 5000 years to taste it.
Tbh most cheap wine was made from water an vinegar back then
or was that how they basically purified water back then?
“This.”
/smile
I think the alcohol content in wine and beer made it safer to drink than the water may have been. All alcoholic beverages will oxidise and turn into vinegar when exposed to air.
“And Mead. Mead isn’t considered Wine OR Beer. It is actually in a class by itself.”
