As I wander through Bastion, I found myself wondering about some of the chests that haven’t been opened, and I’m thinking “What if the longer a chest wasn’t opened, the better the contents were?”
So, yeah, have some obscure chests (or whatever), that have a count-up timer on them so you could see the last time they were opened, and then the contents will get better the long it’s been closed.
I wonder how long a chest like that would remain closed?

I think something like that could be interesting ^.^ Maybe applying to rares also .
Tbf we kind of have that with Consumption and people have been complaining about and fighting with each other over it since day one of knowing it transforms at 40 stacks
If they did that with more rares and possibly also chests, I think there’d be even more unnecessary fighting going on in WoW.
See consumption rare and how that goes

Then people would abuse it and purposely sit and wait for hours and hours for the best loot possible before opening it. They would download add ons to give chest timers to tell them when to open it.
Good idea but people will troll the chest system out which will ruin it.
For the record, the whole thing with Consumption is the other thing that inspired me.
Also, I’m ok with timers and people trolling the system. This isn’t meant as a reward system so much as a psychology experiment.
I can see people jealously guarding a treasure box, waiting for it to evolve only to be very very sad when someone pops up and swipes it out from under them…

Yes. Wouldn’t it be glorious?
Rather chests have a chance to be a mimic, but not just any mimic, a dark souls mimic.
And not just any dark souls mimic, a dark souls 2 mimic.
