Vyve Broadband Connection Issues

I’ve noticed there has been a lot of people having disconnect issues that also have Vyve Broadband internet.

What I know/learned so far.

I have purchased a brand new high end Razer laptop.
Only thing installed is WoW.
New modem from Vyve
Upgraded internet speeds
Had a tech come check all lines inside and outside of the house, they can’t detect any issues at all.
Still having constant disconnect issues that is making the game unplayable.
Located in SE Oklahoma
Any ideas or more information I can provide?
This is my last resort lol

Making this for everyone that has Vyve and is having the same issues.
Plan on calling Blizzard and seeing what they say also, will update when I speak to someone.

Edit Lasting anywhere from 10-30 mins then disconnect atm

The problem still exists but as a workaround until it is addressed by whoever is at fault, is A VPN, I paid for expressvpn to test and wow is fine and playable. Does it feel good? no but does it work? yeah it works :frowning:

Myself and a friend of mine live in west central Arkansas. We started having this same issue about a week ago. I’m to the point last night where it started dc’ing me every 30 seconds. Same this morning if i can even log in. :frowning: We are on Vyve. Everything else seems to work fine. speedtests show 110 mbs DL. Discord and everything runs fine with no lag. If anyone has any ideas besides the VPN Please help! As of now i cant even play

As shown in some other large-ish threads about it, there is a hop in dallas owned by level3 that all your traffic is going through that is malfunctioning. If you run a winmtr I can point it out, but you should be contacting your ISP to complain about it. A VPN should take you along a different path that avoids that problem hop, but at the end of the day it is up to your ISP to either route you a different way, or for them to complain to level3 to fix their hop.

Gloom,

that winmtr looks fine, most issues I’ve seen have been the route to the chicago servers which would be 24.105.62.129, not the west coast servers which are what you ran that test to. It is sometimes possible for issues to not show up on winmtr’s, but it would be a little weird for you to be having the issue on a totally different route.

Hi, there seems to be an issue with Vyve ISP users on here. There is a larger thread detailing those problems on the technical forums and I’ve reached out to both blizzardcs and Vyve looking for an answer or a fix. Right now it seems like only a VPN is a workaround atm.

Kind of sucks. I mean, I’m not paying for a VPN just to play 1 game. Granted a VPN most likely is a good security measure to have, it’s just ugh. I don’t know that there are any decent free ones out there that anyone could trust to use.

I’m on a west coast servers (which is where i’ve been having problems)
I just went the VPN route and have had 0 problems so far, vyve is super special sometimes

I really don’t want to do that alternative either as blizzard is known for wrongly banning people on VPNs. I’m not sure how long this is going to last either which is also nerve-racking.

Blizzard’s response is that it seems to be an issue with the level3 server hops in Dallas and Chicago. It seems those level3 servers are owned by CenturyLink. Which still definitely makes this an ISP issue. Not sure if Vyve can reroute or not. I have tried calling but the hold times are crazy at the moment.

Hello fellow unfortunate vyve users.
I started using protonvpn a little earlier to play and no issues at all.
Has a free version that is good enough until they get it together and fix that dallas to chicago link that is screwing us over.

Azr’s solution seems to work. its not jkust wow either its also Overwatch, but it seems stable with the free version of Proton.

The VPN work around seems to work for me too, fortunately I already had an OpenVPN server setup out of Ohio I can bounce off of. vyve/northland is such a crap provider.

If you have a cellphone I recommend tethering your pc to your wireless service provider since most packages come with 10GB hotspot and you won’t have to worry about canceling a VPN payment after your free trial.

However both VPN and tethering are great work arounds. I just recommend tethering first since your already paying for the service. I’ve been tethered all day and only used 0.65 of my 10GB hotspot.

Ok, after talking with Vyve Broadband for a while. Everyone should be good. They have the problem server hops rerouted. I ran a traceroute and everything looks good. Your latency might be a little higher, but should still be fine.

I’m still working with them to see if they can tweak it just a little more.

I am at least able to connect and stay connected without a vpn now…this was what i got

Looks much better.
I will try disabling Nord this afternoon and try it out.
Wasn’t going to chance it on Sat raid lol.

Hopefully all is well and I dont have to pay for a vpn to make my internet work with wow.

Thanks for the update
