Can we please get the Vulpera head gear and shoulders fit right and scaled down a little? Most Vulp gear as of now isnt sitting right maybe other than cloth. Please fix this Blizz =)
Any specific examples? Personally I find it to be fitting fine but I am curious what specific pieces you feel are scaled incorrectly.
I think mine fits better on me than it does on other races.
As a Vulpera Warlock I’m gonna say most cloth doesn’t either.
I believe it’s just the skeleton and how the gear sits, but it’s the same as the Goblin.
Basically the helms just appears super inflated compared to the model, or at least in comparison to other race models which have more natural body compositions.
Not sure if that’s #justwowthings but I specifically can notice bad fits on my vulpera, take a look at the shoulder piece and how far it floats away from the actual shoulder. https://i.imgur.com/yRM2AKo.png
I think a lot of that has to do with Vulpera cheeks to avoid clipping and I am not sure what kind of elegant solution could be made for that case because said cheeks are part of the base model and not an addition like Hair or something.
I absolutely get what you mean on that front though, a lot of helms just look bad on Vulpera (Subjective personal opinion) with how awkwardly wide they are.
I get where you are coming from with that though.
I mean… That’s not a Vulpera specific issue though. For example, same shoulders on an Orc and you can see the gap is just as big as on a your Vulpera. In fact, I would argue its more noticeable because of how much bigger in general you are as an Orc or Tauren.
Its an issue with the Armor just in general and kind of has to be that way to avoid crazy clipping. I mean, does it look bad at times? Yeah, especially when shirtless and it just looks like the shoulder armor is levitating there. I get that, but I am pretty sure the armor has to levitate out like that because of clipping and the limitations of how armor is attached to the models.
EDIT: I don’t have a screenshot anymore but a great example was, I believe in WoD or Legion, they re-sized a lot of helms/hoods on the races to make them “fit better” which resulted in hoods looking a lot better on a lot of races. At the time I was playing on a Dwarf Paladin and immediately noticed a problem the general resizing created. His nose would poke out of his Tier 2 Judgement armor’s mask because the helm was shrunk ever so slightly to have a “better fit” to it.
I remember creating a bug report on the matter on the old forums haha. I really do not think its a matter of Blizzard not wanting to fix those things/choosing not to and more of a matter that its not a simple fix and by shrinking/drawing them too much closer to the character it could have some problems.
Another example was that in the TBC/Wrath era they shrunk down a lot of races shoulder armor because it was getting a bit crazy in some places (Oh man the orc shoulder memes… I remember someone actually taking the old TBC Alliance vs Horde wallpaper and enlarging the Orc Shoulder Pads to an absurd level haha) Blizzard ended up shrinking the Shoulder Armor down and created a new problem, a lot of races started clipping.
I know this because my Draenei Shaman’s shoulder’s starter clipping through the shoulder armor itself.
Its a tricky bit of business that probably has no easy solution
Yeah that’s right, like their body composition is deliberately out of proportion and the models just have to fit to that.
Honestly it would probably also look weird if they identified the helms it was significant on (basically any full helm) and applied a shrink on the head when wearing those helms which is basically what would need to be done to fix it.
I never use shoulders without armour for that exact reason, but honestly it needs to be done that way to work with everything else aye.
i’ve a lot of mail heads are way to big and shoulders are clipping into the head piece. also cloaks look terrible on them, i know its due to the tail but even small cloaks look about the same size as normal/long cloaks. Thank god SL is bringing new stuff! Also using leather has example, anything with a collar doesnt look right due to heads being far to large. The only thing i see that fits right is anything that sits on top of the head or doesnt really cover the head.
Having gear sit oddly on character models while also having extreme clipping is just the WoW way.
Adds to the charm.
The one thing I really like about Vulpera is how hats look on them. Definitely different, I quite like it. But yes, some gear is messed up on some races since a lot of it is just set up for the Human/Orc models mostly.
wasn’t there a thing where the new backpacks floated on vulpera
Full-head hoods look kind of garbage most of the time. Some are scaled right, others not so much.
I like the way my mog fits
Im just hoping the SL armor fits nice not like some old sets or gear in general, that could be fixed down the road.
Yeah, their heritage rucksack. When dual-wielding weapons, the main hand auto-attacks cause the backpack to detach while the attack is happening. Doesn’t happen with fist weapons, though.
As for the other backpacks, the Recruit-a-Friend pack has no issues on vulpera. And the backpack you can get from Wrathion doesn’t hide sheathed weapons on the back so it causes some awful looking clipping. But that issue happens with all races.
Lot of plate helms look hilarious (I like mine, leave those alone) especially Wrath and Faceguard of the Eyeless Horror is the funniest thing iv seen sense tiny orc shoulders - looks like a real fancy vetrinarian cone after you get your dog neutered.
I know for sure that the female model of Vulpera’s shoulders are horrifically misaligned. It isn’t hard to catch but seems like my post fell on deaf ears in the bug forum.
Aside from my heritage backpack rebelling against my ironwill to stay put, I haven’t had any issues with gear looking good. My current set fits pretty nice and helm looks great.
No animal race should use helms in my opinion. It just doesn’t work and your face is already interesting enough, don’t hide it.
