This vulpera is in boralus under a house. They seemed to have passed out from over eating panda food and something unknown in that bottle.

Lol. Good find, though I'm not sure we should count that name as representative of lore-friendly names...

Now Iâm curious if that vulpera knows how to play that lute(?)/guitar in the back there.

While I do like their choice in names, I'm going to stick with my ol' MoonshineFox that I've gone by for years. I've had a character camping the name for years now for when I got the desire to play it.

So it would seem like they have short names with 2 or 3 syllables. Hmm. Right up my alley.
I'm going to pose the question that I've posed to all my friends who are 100% convinced that Vulpera are going to be an allied race: What does Alliance get?
Answers I've gotten so far:
Answers I've gotten so far:
- Tortolla - Pretty sure armor doesn't work right on them, so this one's out.
- Sethrak - Almost entirely positive that they are evil and would never be made an allied race (even if I would personally like to play a snerson).
- Who cares the Alliance sucks - Okay well you're entitled to that opinion, but it wouldn't be fair for the Horde to get a new allied race and the Alliance to get nothing
There is a good faction of these fellas. I believe both sides work with them (Doesn't matter Nightborne worked with both sides). They're probably the most likely for the Alliance.08/09/2018 07:52 PMPosted by MalvalenSethrak - Almost entirely positive that they are evil and would never be made an allied race (even if I would personally like to play a snerson).

04/30/2018 08:51 AMPosted by StyloThe only way I'd support Vulpera is if they came with a "hide race" option that made them appear as a race already in the game instead to all who check it. I absolutely loathe the idea of a cutesy anime race running around in this game. I don't want to see them. I don't want to be reminded of them. I don't want to group with them. I hate them. It's not about not wanting other people to have something they enjoy, I just don't want it to come at the cost of my own enjoyment, and seeing Vulpera all over the place would absolutely negatively impact my own enjoyment.
This.
Please no. If you all want to live out your weird Robin Hood by Disney fantasies, go to a furry convention.

1) A fur con has surprisingly little Robin Hood (all the kids want Nick nowadays) and
2) Why? I don't like gnomes but I'm not going to hate on someone for playing them. You don't see any other race getting calls to erase them from the game. Besides, if you can't see them it makes it easier for the sneaky rogue ones to stick you in the back with a sharp knife! The little bastards :P

Tortollan is extremely unlikely for either faction simply due to the way their bodies are designed. That turtle shell would be a massive pain for armor and cloaks. Sethrak are the only reasonable option unless Blizz pulls something outta nowhere. The Alliance saves the leader of the Devoted Sethrak and starts good relations with them during the first part of their War Campaign. Will it go somewhere? Hopefully.
Sethrak seems to have gotten a lot of the model/animation updates that the Vulpera did so I'd place my money on them. From what I get of their story the ones the alliance team up with are pretty good overall and are standing against their more evil kinfolk, so good Alliance fodder there.

I remain pretty unconvinced even if there is a good faction (or at least a less evil one). I don't think they can wear normal armor, and there would be (ideally) no distinction between male and female models, which would make things complicated for a player character.
I'd also like to add that there's no precedent for this. Did the Mantids become an allied race? How about the Kalu'ak? Ogres?
I'm not saying I'd be against it, and I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade, I just don't understand why everyone is so totally convinced that a Vulpera allied race is Definitely Happening.

For the vulpera, there have been some subtle hints in interviews. But the real hard evidence is not in gameplay or story but simply in their model. If you look closely at the vulpera models, you'll see they have way more detail and animation quality put into them than any other npc race in the game. The front post has the complete list of features you wouldn't expect on an NPC but I'll give you the major highlight:
Their faces are rigged to be fully expressive with moving eyes, and articulated lips, jaws and eyebrows.
The vulpera are currently the only NPC race in the entire game that have this feature other that ones which directly import the facial geometry of PC races. (Ie leper gnomes)
It's so rare, in fact, that Worgen and goblin still lack this
Blizzard either intends vulpera to be playable or they are spending an irresponsible level of development resources on them

You're alliance so you'll probably be killing them anyway.
I think you'll tune out their presence on your horde alts too pretty quickly. You lived through pandaren, and I would wager more Vulpera means fewer pandaren for you to have to look at

In addition to what Eevee said, there is the ArtoffLoop animation for when your character uses the Heart of Azeroth. No non-player race has this animation, except for our favorite foxes and the danger noodles.

People playing what they want to in a fantasy game?! THE HORROR! If I have to deal with lightning space goats, I'm sure you can with foxes. My goodness.
I sincerely pity those who let their game be affected THAT MUCH by things others want to play. It's amusing sometimes, and I'm looking forward to when they'll swallow their words and need to deal with it (or leave, because good riddance). I just honestly don't get being THAT upset over a fantasy race in a fantasy game. It's laughable.
hmmm i would play as this race just to trigger allaince players if they do become a horde allied race that is.08/10/2018 01:29 PMPosted by Fallynn...

I do not see problems in a race being androgyn.
After all reptiles are not mammals!
But I'm not against including breasts in Sethraks! I like breasts! :D
Breasts do not bother argonians!
Still, when pandarens were introduced to players just before MOP, they still had not shown the pandaren female model!
The team in charge may still be deciding what the finished model will look like!
The masculine and feminine models of vulperas, when announced, are different from the ones we have now in Vol'dum!
08/09/2018 09:37 PMPosted by MalvalenDid the Mantids become an allied race? How about the Kalu'ak? Ogres?
You point out problems with armor, as long as the game armor has no problems in some races!
My worgen has problems with the tabard, in the area of ââthe chest besides elms that cross the body and I did not see anyone to point this with impediment for the race! Idem for taurens heads!
But it's curious that you ask for mantids, which are not even humanoid, that demonstrates much more problems in adapting equipment like armor, for use and are an antagonistic race!
Malignantly proven, they serve the old gods!
Kalu'aks and ogres, may come but are they pertinent to the maps we will be in BfA?
If anyone wants, you can suggest but I do not see so many topics coming up asking for these races!
One player, Syegfrid (orc) opened a topic suggesting ogres, including ideas for classes, capital and even racial leader (Rexxar)! A very good job and that has the basis that ogres are already part of the horde in lore! The topic was buried in limbo, after reaching page 3!
Lack of community enthusiasm with ogres does not help convince the Devs that ogres is popular to merit an investment for now!
it is necessary that someone do as Eevee and others on this topic and really advocate for the race that has their predilection, giving it visibility and raising support for it!
With allied races sistem, your chosen race has only to show its virtues and maybe it will come to life, indeed!
Well, at least I was lucky enough to find an echo in my aspirations for vulperas on this topic!
At least for that, I can be grateful! :D
08/09/2018 09:37 PMPosted by MalvalenI just don't understand why everyone is so totally convinced that a Vulpera allied race is Definitely Happening.
So why so much work with them, if many models used in BfA, are not having even a tenth of what is being applied to sethraks and vulperas?
There is no indication or sense that any race other than vulperas will receive so much detail just to not be used!
It's a colossal waste of resources and time, which could be put into service, updating goblins and worgens!
If they are not using vulperas, they put so much effort into adding animations and other details into something that will stand in a quest hub, getting dust!
I did not see tortola getting a job like that! Neither vrykuls on Legion!
And so far, everything comes in pairs!
Doing something to horde and nothing to Ally seems unlikely!
I am so enthralled by vulperas, that I will create at least 2 of them in the horde! Vulpera does not need to be on ally! I would play in the horde without complaints if I could play with a vulpera!
