Vulpera Discussion Megathread (Part 1)

I will not allow this to drop to page five!
It is almost embarrassing that I made a Panda just to carry me over, but on the other hand it has been a blast
My concern about the Vulpera right now has less to do with whether they're made playable or not and moreso when we'll actually be able to play as them.

Reason being that I've pretty much already decided to main one for BfA(and fallen in love with them of course) so I feel much less inclined to go indulge myself in the expansion's content as a character that I know I'll probably be ditching in favor of being a little foxy boi. Thus all the time I might have invested in said character would just go to waste because of that.

You literally hit the nail on the head when it comes to my opinion on the matter as well haha XD

With all the datamined information that has come out over the course of BfA beta there is some pretty hefty evidence that supports both Vulpera and Sethrak becoming playable at some point in some capacity. Too many resources have gone into the two races to provide them player level details for it to be a hoax/misdirection on Blizzard's part imho. While you never know with Blizzard, I am feeling pretty safe with the idea that Vulpera will become a thing.

So with that said, I really, really, REALLY hope they can be Sunwalkers if they join the Horde. They have so much in common with the Tauren as is in terms of their nomadic nature, the sun, ect. Sunwalkers, IE Paladins, would fit so well with them and I could honestly see it happening.

Just my two cents and making my personal desire on the matter known XD

I too am wishing we could just get an official timeline and class list. I want to main one and without a class list it's hard to make a decision about what toons to level in the mean time.

I honestly don't think Blizzard would be that mean for anything they're throwing at us in terms of Allied Races. They made things explicitly clear in declining things like Blood Trolls, for example, so people wouldn't be led astray. They know us, as players, are passionate about things. They wouldn't want hype to build up only to be killed and the players to be overly disappointed. I feel like they enjoy seeing players happy and do the best they can, and the approval for these Allied Races feature is so huge.

I mean, if they didn't care why promise us more races? We could have been fine with the usual extra 2 per expansion or something. Instead, what they're doing, has crowds going WILD. Look at all the megathreads still going for many months! There's definitely hope, like I said in my other thread. I'd love a timeline as well, but I don't think we'd be hoaxed in any of our hinted races :) ...At least I hope not. But I believe what I said so I'm not worried.
In Breaking News, the Vulpera riding animation has been updated (slightly)

The animation now loops properly and they now grip the reigns much more firmly.

Not terribly exciting, but a another drop to fill up the pool

Ya know.. 43 pages.. Vulpera Megathread... hugely popular idea..

You have my axe...
Err I mean my race change money!
Well they would get my money for some race changes. After I level one for the heritage armor of course. If they do become playable and if they can be shamans as well(if the datamined text suggests) then I’ll make a vulpera elemental shaman.

I will likely race change this hunter on day one and then level up a... whatever the most interesting class they get other than hunter for the heritage armor in the following couple weeks.

The pre-patch was unusually buggy, and that's caused a lot of issues, but those bugs will be squashed in the coming weeks leading up to and following the launch of BFA. I'm not terribly worried about them (Even if my Karkin looks weird until the next patch)

The other things that people seem to be complaining about are changes to the game that they're not happy with, including but not limited to:
-More spells on GCD
-Removal of Master Loot
-Artifact Retirement
-Warmode imbalances
-General changes to their spec
-UI changes

GCD, master loot, spec changes and artifact retirement are things I expect will just take some time to get used to. I think for the most part people will find these things do not affect the game as much as they think.

UI changes I also think will just take a little time to get used to, but I think it will be even faster because in a week or so the custom UIs will all be updated and the people who don't like it will be back to their favourite UI.

Warmode is the only problem I see with real staying power. As it is right now, it's a system that encourages participation from the "winning" faction, and discourages participation from the "losing" faction. The more Alliance get dominated, the more they're just going to turn warmode off. And the more Horde reign unopposed, the more players are going to opt into it. It's a system that breeds imbalance.

I don't see any easy way to fix it either. You need to encourage the losing faction to participate, and really the only way to do that is to increase the rewards. Problem there is to get alliance wanting to throw themselves to the wolves, the rewards would have to be really really good. And then horde would complain that their bonus sucks.

So... yeah. I think you'll be hearing about warmode for a loooong time.

But yeah. Vulpera!

I am hype!

That's pretty much the golden rule of this thread.

Discuss things with respect and a positive attitude and you'll starve hostility out of the conversation.
