Vulpera Discussion Megathread (Part 1)

You never know.
They do require the same teams/resources as making the allied race models do.

Except that Vulpera and Mechagnomes are already almost done. Soooo. It’s not like they’d be starting from scratch.

Still, Blizzard may think releasing only the new w/g models are enough for now.

I’m not saying this to rain on your parade, but to keep you from getting too hyped and then disappointed. Keep your feet on the ground.

I think vulpera and mechies are coming in 8.2.5, but it’s far from a sure thing.

Here’s hoping we get SOME news on ANY allied race.

I honestly don’t see Blizz making Vulperan druids. I believe, if they’re not part of a new class feature that involves sand magic, they will just be:

Warrior
Hunter
Rogue
Priest
Mage
Shaman
Monk

I will most likely do a couple race changes to Vulpera: one of my hunters and rogue

I kind of like the idea of playing a MW monk on Horde so I would level one up for the heritage set. Right now, my only monk is a gnome and I hardly play him because I just don’t care for the Alliance.

Would I like to see Vulpera druids? Absolutely! That would probably be my main choice! I’m just skeptical on whether Blizz would do that because is would involve a lot more work and would kind of detract from the Zandalari and Kul Tirans, imo.

The worgen models better be the best effing thing since transmogrification if they’re going to give me them instead of an allied race…

Someone won’t be happy with them, no matter how they turn out.

For some people, they’ll be bad because they are not faithful enough to the original.
For others, they’ll be bad because they didn’t deviate enough from the original.
And yet others will claim they are bad because of some thing they expected but was not fulfilled (like tails), lol.

But I hope we do get allied races in 8.2.5. And vulpera and mechas are the only possible ones right now.

It really would not be hard to do considering they are essentially done.

Though I don’t see mechagon becoming Alliance aligned so soon with Horde actively helping them.

We will see.

I think this could change rapidly if Gallywix finds out about Mechagon. The relations could sour very quickly between the Rustbolt Rebellion and the Horde. Especially if the Prince takes over after we dethrone his father.

Nothing that the recruitment story couldn’t explain.
And the starting location for mechagnomes could be inside the city (dungeon), once it’s conquered, so no risky of walking around Horde players in Rustbolt.

Basically Gallywix has to mess it up royally.

Then Gazlowe can be the Goblin leader like it should have been.

I don’t know about druids. There has been so much furor over AR druids that I’m worried that the dev team will shy away from adding more.

Previews show them FINALLY fixing female worgen face to look like a damn wolf instead of some deformed werechihuahua like abomination.

Part of me is wondering if they would have announced Kul’Tirans as early as they did with how long it took to get them playable, since people fussed and complained about the wait.

On the one hand, people knew they were a thing and could get excited about it though. Just wondering if that would make them announce them closer to release.

Its hard to crave news xD

If they go this route, I really hope they use the classic “Err Ah EEE” sound effect from the 80s Transformer cartoon every time they change forms :3

I don’t recall seeing much angst about the AR druids? I think i saw more about Zandalari not being announced as paladins until it finally happened.

I’m not holding my breath for Vulpera & Junker Druids but it would be really interesting for both factions. Also probably drive more than a select group into playing the races.

The complaints weren’t about the druids themselves, but the Horde getting 2 Allied Races that could roll druids to the Alliance’s 1.

I recall there being talk about some Vulpera being around in Mechagon in the beta. Anyone seen any Vulpera there, or was that referring to the Mechagon dungeon?

Vulpera MUST become playable. So bliz can make a small fortune from RC’s. Furries are a very passionate community and while they get A LOT of hate they’re for the most part in my experience perfectly fine. Some outliers but every group has those. But certainly any/all furry will play a Vulpera and likely RC which is ez monies. And non furries will as well. I don’t consider myself a furry as while I like Furry races that’s as far as I go. Not part of that community. But I don’t get the hate either. Seems hating just to hate. Anyways yeah. Vulpera = Money.

I mean, we’re all playing cartoon characters in a video game. :woman_shrugging: Some of us, like me, are above twenty. I don’t know why people think they’re very high and mighty over furries when we’re playing a 15 year old fantasy game with bright flashy colors. Many people claim that video games, especially WoW, are for children.

To me, furries are just another community with some bad apples like the rest. I’m not one but I think the Vulpera are adorable and would like to play an adorable but fierce character because it’s just fun. I also think foxes are really cool animals due to the Russian Fox domestication experiment, in which behavioral genetics are explored. That’s what got me fascinated with foxes–and I’ve loved them ever since.

There’s nothing wrong with beast races. Tauren, Pandaren, worgen, whatever. People can enjoy things as long as they’re not hurting anyone. And that’s the thing–they’re not. I’ve met many kind people from their community. It’s not even a matter of understanding why someone is the way they are, it’s a matter of just letting them be and being nice if they’re not bringing harm to anyone. That’s very simply called being an adult.

Bring on the Vulpera.
