This is getting a little out of hand. Can I ask that this discussion about potential allied races for the alliance and opinions on mechagnomes moves to another thread? It’s not really related to Vulpera other than using them as a comparison point.

I’m not against engaging in tangential topics. But this particular one is getting pretty heated and it’s not really conductive to the thread or the Vulpera cause as a whole to use them as a reason to complain about mechagnomes. Neither race has actually been confirmed to be an AR yet anyway so it seems a little premature to be throwing around faction bias arguments.

I feel like this is necessary to share again since things might be leaning toward arguments once again.

Hopefully 8.2.5 hits the PTR in the not to distant future now that 8.2 is live. Maybe the dataminers will have good news for us

News on 8.2.5 will probably come near the end of July.

PTR should be out by early August.

If there’s allied races in 8.2.5, we will know in one month.

As far as class options go I’m really hopeful for both Junker Gnomes and Vulpera to be able to be druids.

I know what you’re going to say “Junker Gnomes druids, whaaa?” Hear me out… On Mechagon we see lots of robotic life from mechanical dogs to spiders. The Prince is even very intrigued by the Magic wielded by the players. I think a “perversion” of nature magic could be possible by them, similar to the way the forsaken use the Light. This would open up the door for Vulpera to be druids as well, as it seems they are very accustomed to dealing with harsh enviroments and nature. Also the Vulpera would be the only anthropomorphic animal race unable to be a druid. So I’m really hopeful they get druids instead of shaman.

I imagine it will be a couple weeks before the next ptr goes up. If there are allied races planned for it though they will likely want to do an announcement/breakdown like they did for 8.2

I’m trying to focus more on worgen updates right now so I don’t drive myself crazy getting my hopes up again.

Pandaren can’t be druids… although they had as much justification for it as KT humans. Maybe more. Augest celestials could inspire the forms. But yeah no they can’t cuz bliz is lame.

I’d rather not play with bigots. But you don’t always get what your want. Did your parents never tell you that? I got told that a lot as a kid. Set up perfect expectations for adult life.

After KT and Zandalari druids I’m pretty sure any new race can be a Druid as long as Blizzard is willing to invest the resources in making them.

I’d be interested to see if Mechgnomes and Vulpera got druids because I think their forms would be neat. (Though I wouldn’t get my hopes up for either)

Offtopic: In some website i read worgen and goblins can be monks in 8.25 but they didnt mention a source about that. Can someone confirm it?

I think it’s extremely unlikely that Blizzard would ever open up the Monk class for Worgen. To my knowledge, they have NEVER depicted a Worgen Monk in any medium, not even in something like Hearthstone.

I consider any claims about Worgen getting Monks to be 100% false.

I’m sure Vulpera would get Monks if they get added as an Allied Race, though. They would probably get Warriors, Shamans, Hunters, Rogues, Monks, maybe Priests, and maybe Mages.

And that’s the kicker. It took how many years after worgen/trolls to get new druids? They dont wanna but int he dev work for unique forms.

As far as Vulpera classes go, I still think there’s four categories:

Yes: Rogue, Hunter, Warrior
If Blizz wants to: Priest, Mage, Warlock, Monk, Shaman, Paladin
If Blizz REALLY wants to: Druid
No: Death Knight, Demon Hunter

Basically the seven classes between the yes and no category will ultimately come down to how Blizzard wants to expand on Vulpera culture or lore. We can speculate or point to precedent as much as we’d like, but they’re a bit of a blank slate in this regard and Blizzard could take them any direction they want.

I’m really hopeful for druid for both Junker Gnomes and Vulpera. Not only would the forms be really cool, but we’d get more races capable of being druids.

Would be nice to see more races, especially 2 small races
