as long as they make sense and not for fun or cute reasons.

I wasn't aware video games weren't supposed to be fun.

New races are fun.

However when they are demanded by the players because of fun and cute emotes doesn't make it a valid reason. Races should be included for story-related reasons that make sense.

I want Furbolg as a playable race but that'll never happen because they're too few in numbers and the majority of their race was corrupted in WC3.

Voidbelfs? Check!

Amazing observation; I don't ever recall in my discussions that I agree with Voidelves being added.

Now I feel bad. You responded very well and in a respectable fashion. The least I could do is analyze your points.

I really don't see anything against people wanting to play a race for aesthetic reasons. Vulpera are undoubtedly a very "cute" race and inevitably attract many players because of it. As BfA hasn't even come out yet, I don't believe we have enough information to judge their story/history. From what I have seen, they are a race of survivalists in a harsh land and are often beset by the neighbouring Sethrak who seek to oppress and enslave them. Though, admittedly, lore is a bit lacking in regards to Vulpera due to their recent addition, I have seen a number of people who are drawn to their survivalist culture as well.

Population seems to be quite malleable if the story or gameplay demands it. Void Elves are apparently a significant enough population to be a playable race, yet we also find out on Zandalar that the Drakkari are nearly extinct and only a handful are still alive, despite being apparently numerous in previous expansions.

P.S. I'd quite enjoy playable furbolgs too! <3

I appreciate the analytical points you have.

I've played through the Beta as Horde and Alliance so I know the story of the Vulpera and I won't lie, I agree that Vulpera would make a great race because of their constant struggles but in BFA their story as of right now and probably throughout BFA doesn't make sense for having them as an allied race for either faction.

Edited: Not to be to spoilerific but the story of Vulpera vs Sethrak is not as it seems from someone who's not played the Beta, since there is internal conflict between Sethrak.

Yeah, I understand that. Maybe I'm just being overly hopeful, but I like to think the two races would get more story in later patches in the expac to warrant them choosing sides. But really, it's the quality of their models that really gets me believing they'll be playable. Despite Blizzard's remarks of more NPC customization, the Vulpera are the only uncomfirmed allied race that has such varied customization, but I digress.

I am aware of the internal conflict with the Sethrak and the alliance the faithful ones made with the Vulpera. It kinda crushes my hopes of Sethrak being an Alliance race (mostly because I don't want the Alliance getting thin humans and (rightfully in this theoretical case) screaming "Horde bias!")

Yep!
You did not agree with voidbelfs, and yet they are here!

If Aunt Blizz chose a race with this baggage in the game, she can apply the same logic to vulperas, with the advantage that there are people who would like vulperas, as well as some who like ogres, who despite having a lore and Reasons to be in the horde, such as high elves, can take time to be added or never come!
I want to say I appreciate you all keeping this discussion civil and productive. It really made my day
Does anybody have their vulpera name reserved?

Murlocs have a better chance of becoming a playable race than those stupid foxes. but this game is called world of warcraft for a reason..and "cute little foxes" dont have a place in a warcraft game. might as well change the name to world of zootopia

Why am I tempted to use 'Reepicheep'? These foxes remind me of that tiny brave little hero.
