Vulpera Discussion Megathread (Part 1)

Also…if your calling them ‘furry’ was a simple term based on them having fur~ That’s fine! No harm no foul, I’m just growing weary of people targeting others with labels because some of us find a race appealing that happens to be animalistic.

As for your debates with one another, I haven’t done any horde so I can’t take sides lol

However, I want them to be playable JUST for the sole fact that the people who want them, will be happy with such!

Surely there are some races from previous expansions you would love to have become playable in the future? If so, I hope you get exactly that and get to enjoy yourself ^^

Not to mention one can advocate for said races too. Now is a good chance to do so, and if there’s not a thread going, one can easily start one and write up their ideas, where they’re found in lore, and such like that. Many have done it, and megathreads tend to have ideas flowing around usually.

Hordeside questing is a lot of fun. I know not many enjoy Vol’dun because it’s a desert (I love desert zones though) but it’s pretty solid, along with the rest of the Horde area. Especially learning about the Loa, that aspect is very fun. If you ever get a chance to, I recommend trying it! I played through the Alliance zones too (except for Stormsong in a great extent.) and quite enjoyed them as well. Especially Drustvar.

Edit: Also, I’m aware that I got angry during the last argument due to jabs being thrown back and forth. I got baited into lashing out as well, and I apologize for falling for that sort of negativity. I will try in the future not to give into arguments and sink as low as the one initiating the attacks.

The fury of the Vulpera will rise from the sands to demand vengeance! And WE SHALL HAVE IT!

I really want to play some horde…I have a huge love of orc, especially now that they’re upright…so I’d love to get to play through the horde storyline with them in Vol’dun~

not to mention my X-Mog on my shaman looks pretty awesome imho xD

A sacrifice for the Vulpera gods!

I did battle for darkshore on my rogue looking like a vulpera… and probably crushed someone’s dreams. XD

Labeling objectifies and dehumanizes. If someone expresses disapproval of something, and then immediately starts flinging labels around, then it’s totally fair to assume that the person is a selfish douche because almost every single one of them are.

That is so mean but I am compelled to laugh.

Oh my goodness that’s so cruel…

God, I can’t even imagine the souls crushing disappointment. You should be proud and ashamed

How did you do the battle for darkshore looking like a Vulpera if disguises unravel upon entering combat?

I’m copying this over to Vulpera and Sethrak discussions from another thread on possible new classes:

I think they need to release Vulpera and Sethrak along with their respective classes.

Vulpera would use alchemy and sand magic like:

Sethrak would use wind and lightning magic like:

The basic ideas are already in-game. All Blizz has to do is build on them and develop unique specs based around them.

*I suppose people would want to play a Vulpera or Sethrak as other existing classes, so maybe they would just have racials based around their respective lore? I don’t know… I think you could easily create classes around those ideas but, of course, they wouldn’t be exclusive which would kind of take away from their fantasy. I could see these classes being exclusive to Faction though. On the Horde side, which is where the Vulpera would go, I could see Trolls (Darkspear, Zandalari) sharing the ability to use sand magic. On the Alliance side, where Sethrak would go, maybe Humans and Kul’tirans would be able to learn to harness electricity.

I liked these ideas!

Unfair advantage to Vulpera. I literally am unable to target them to attack them. They’re too cute.

That could be their racial ability haha

“Open their cute little eyes and stare into an enemy player, causing them to stop attacking and not being able to target them again for X seconds while saying “DAAAW””.

When I was in Vol’dun and there was an assault there I was like, “I don’t know that I’m going to be able to do this.”

and they’re all, “Here is a totem to scare them away.”

I was really relieved. But then they end up getting killed randomly, by players or npc’s and I get super upset.

The Skymirror toy preserves the appearance in combat, I use it each time I do the incursion WQs too.

Judging by some of the negative comments I’ve seen people directing towards vulpera, I imagine that racial would have a “10% chance to enrage the target instead”.

Seriously though, if they don’t get burrow or pocket sand racial, I will be disappoint. XD Given how much blizzard loves memes, and a 2sec incapacitate or stealth/temporary vanish would be cool - shadowmeld exits combat, gives stealth to non-stealth classes, and protects you from things like greater pyroblast; they’re all nice and would fit well with digging, throwing sand or kicking up a dust cloud.

Their flasks and jugs around their belts could contain special waters that help against dehydration or give an energy boost to speed up and escape a dangerous moment - since they may have a knack for alchemy that evolved from their need to be resourceful with whatever they’ve found / collected and be creative with very little.

I would make it so those jugs were bottled sandstorms that they can uncork, unleashing a flurry of sandy wind that whips up a small cloud of sand that can be used as a distraction and cloak to scurry away. And a fun and useful racial might be digging into the ground and popping up somewhere randomly behind or around the target/enemy. Useful but requiring repositioning as it may not always predictable! Haha!

Ahh. Gotcha.

Pretty cool idea

That’s actually a pretty neat idea.

Can we talk about Mechagnomes and allied races?

It’s exciting to see people speculate about allied races, and they haven’t finalized every decision, so it’s exciting to hear feedback from the community, but nothing concrete right now!

Look at this folks, could be some interesting news. They are perhaps watching our threads and seeing our feedback. I hope so.
