Really bummed about not getting any more info today, on top of them tossing a couple more potential races into the mix to debate about that initially don't really excite me.
New allied races were the main thing I was hoping for today :-/
11/02/2018 10:42 PMPosted by AlaeisI dunno if Mechagnomes will be an allied race because gear would literally cover up everything that makes them different from gnomes. If anything they might just be a customization option, or pure NPCs. Good news is they are neutral and not an alliance exclusive thing. That would really suck for those of us who do not want Vulpera paired with Gnomes.
No news is still better than no.
You're right, I didn't give a thought to how hard it would be to clothe those gnomes...
Huh, maybe they are just npcs

Tulipalo. Literally translates from Finnish to mean "fire"

Wowhead: Do you have more plans for Allied Races after Zandalari and Kul Tiras?
Shani: It's something we've definitely talked about, but there's no plans to share what the next bunch will be but there are some that are coming later on.
Morgan: With Allied races, it's always really exciting to see what players get kicked up about but it's also about where is the story taking us and what makes sense at the point in time when we're exploring these things.
So a solid non-answer. Honestly, even without the prospect of Vulpera and Sethrak, allied races were one of the big things in this expansion, and we get to know basically nothing about any of it till they're just about in game.

Exactly. It's hard not to feel disappointed when one of the major features of the current expansion is something they are so silent about.
No one even asked about vulpera at the Q&A? Sigh..

I don't think anyone wanted to risk starting another fire for blizzard to try and do damage control on.
They seem to have locked the character DB down verbally as well as digitally. And then tease us with these ‘well could be we’ll have to see!’ comments.

I'm sure many did. Blizzard just refuse to answer.
At BlizzCon. During a time WoW desperately needs a shot in the arm. Yeah we know Blizzard are yanking our chains the past few months on Allied Races but BlizzCon was their moment. And...nothing was talked about on the subject.
I admit I am at a complete loss what Blizzard is doing here. Even a hard "No" would be preferable to this.

This. As much as I want Vulpera. (I own the discord after all) I am disheartened that we have nothing. If you don't have any planned, just tell us. If you have more planned, tell us how many.
We don't need to know when, or even what. But the radio silence is not only frustrating, its causing people to unsub, and even leave the discord.
I'm sorry this exists, it shouldn't need to be. I'm all for allied races so full support.
I wouldn't be at all upset. Vulpera are still 100% happening. I have a feeling we'll get them toward the end of the expansion, so it was just too early to announce it.
I don't feel the need to remain subbed to WoW for the time being, since I don't really have anything to look forward to in the new character aisle. If they'd release some small teaser, I'd stay subbed to farm rep in hopes of playing the new stuff. I don't see what they're gaining from keeping quiet like this, and the dismissal of people's interest in the issue is annoying the hell out of me.

vulpera are fighting agaisnt san'layn and sethraks for a spot as an allied race on the horde... dont be so confident

There's not a fight for spots, if Allied Race communities look at it this way, we'd all be at each other's throats.
I'm the leader of the San'layn megathread and discord and am honored to help out and support the Vulpera as well. I know many Sethrak fans and Vulpera fans support each other too. The mentality of 'fighting for a spot' is what brings upon arguments and hate.
Therefore, I encourage those of us that do want to see specific Allied Races in the game, even if you don't support certain ones widely talked about and with large communities of which have not been told no for BfA, to be polite and respectful. I really want San'layn added, but I also want to see others happy too! The 'spot' theory will only hurt us if we cling onto it. Let's be positive with our ideas and support for each other ^^
I too am greatly puzzled by Blizzard's silence on allied races. Last BlizzCon when they announced BFA they said allied races would be a big part and named six, with 2 more slightly later. Now here we are a year later and we don't have any new ones on the list.
BlizzCon is when people pay the most attention, I don't see how withholding information on what could be the biggest selling point serves their interests.
I think we've waited long enough

I apologize for being negative, it's just really disheartening. I feel like I haven't really been able to start the expansion because if Vulpera become available I will have to race change, or possibly even class or faction change. I can't get into the story of another character with that uncertainty on the horizon.
Horde can have the Foxes.
Give Alliance the Cyborg Gnomes.

"We also asked about the possibility of Vulpera as an Allied Race, since they had so many customization options and animations."
"Blizzard is able to add a lot of flavor and customization to major NPC characters—it makes the world feel alive. It opens up the ability for designers to do cool, custom things.
For Allied Races in general, it comes down to timing. Is a particular Allied Race endearing enough to players? Does it make sense in the story to add them as player characters."
When asked regarding Vulpera again, they just paraphrase that dreaded post about NPC customization we all know about. While Vulpera are clearly a fan-favourite, the question of "does it make sense to the story," sounds a lot like "do we have to? Don't you want an edgy race like murlocs or something?"
I want Vulpera to be an allied race more than anything. However, this beating around the bush is agonizing! If they're not planning on making them playable and just chose to waste resources on an one-off NPC race, why don't they just say so?
This is not an answer to the question we are all asking, they're just leading us on with a carrot on a stick. Which does no good at all.
