Vulpera Celebration Thread! 🦊

I will love the Vulpera either way but I would like them to reconsider the change.
Even if it means losing the bag space (which is awesome and I love)

Personally I think the backpack racial is more fitting.

While they do scavenge stuff, the caravan is pretty much the most recognizable/defining aspect of their culture. Between that and the heritage backpack, it would make sense that they would want to carry all the things.

And on that note, more bag space also works for their scavenger side since we’ll be able to pick up more junk before having to find/summon a vendor.

Ill be getting flying unlocked today and can go back to making sure i do every single vuldunai world quest every day.

(Ive been slacking really badly on that and focusing on unlocking pathfinder once i found out foxies wont be until next year.)

And once i get all allied races unlocked(or at least the rep grinds) ill be making a vulpera on the test realm to see what all the buzz is about.
I dont want to do that before im finished with the other stuff because im afraid it will put me off playing my paladin.

Any data yet on what classes they will be best for? I know it’s early in the PTR but it usually doesn’t take the theorycrafters long, but I haven’t seen anything yet.

Well speaking of racials they are primarily a utility race. But the current trend is Shaman/Rogue/Monk from what I saw, few wanted them hunters as well. But I don’t think they offer any major positive or negative currently.

I do hope they give them some more on-par racials considering how broken the mechagnome racials are and even then very few people have interest in playing them given the unfortunate state of their models. I know a lot of people excited to play Vulpera as DKs or Warlocks though.

In light of the current ptr, mechagnomes combat racial was reduced to 15 points in primary stat that build up to max of 120. This is down from it being 400. Plus their healing cd was nerfed to be on par with troll one at 2.5cd. I find while the racials are more combat based than vulpera…they are just above average now and nothing that would cause someone to debate faction swapping, outside gnome appeal.

Blizzard cut the cloaks on vulpera by half, and now it looks horrible.

PLEASE revert it to how it was before. Long cloak was perfect on them.

I’m probably in the minority for thinking this but I think ALL racials should only be quality of life improvements, tradeskill-related bonuses or situationally useful utility abilities. I don’t think anybody should feel forced to play a race they don’t like because it helps their log rank.

(Though I also think those people are probably taking minmaxing a little far given how marginal most abilities are)

Oh i’m in total agreement with you on that…but last time I posted something like that I got flamed by people saying why do you want to nerf yourself and assorted other comments I could care less about. I would prefer the game stop using racials as lever in balance control flat out, its a lazy way for devs not to address core issues.

I agree completely.

Either way, it’s hard to judge the racial until they implement the rummaging part.

As it is, rogues might toss a vial while pooling energy, whereas a fury warr might just want to ignore it and use moar whirlwind.

If they add a trick that gives a buff or some sort of defensive, it could open up its usefulness.

I don’t think they’ve ever intended to use racials to influence faction balance. I admit though there have been some changes that have caused some swings back and forth. Though I believe that was more a problem with the fact that it’s impossible to perfectly balance the power asymmetric tools when the challenges those tools are used for are in constant flux.

I don’t want to get too far off topic here, but I think WoW’s faction system is flawed by design. It is a system that naturally snowballs imbalance and can only be controlled with constant manually balancing and maintenance on the part of the developers.

Really though, I’m just against anything that creates an unnecessary divide between people.

…Anyway, here’s a fox:

Want to see something funny…this video came out in 2014. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tN9oSSn-iv8

Part of me really wants to get some people together on the PTR to recreate the music video but I don’t know nearly enough about video editing to tackle such a project

While I agree that I liked the scavenger racial I do NOT agree it should come back and replace bag of ticks. BoT is one of the racials that has me most interested in the race. I’m personally hoping for a kB and a stealth. If anything I would like to have us have to find the tricks but I vote against the scavenger racial replacing BoT.

I’d have loved the racial if instead of bags it just gave vulpera more loot/higher chance of greys etc to sell. Kind of like miniature rogues pick pocketing. Having to constantly open lots of bags? Horrible.

The 8 extra slots are… eh. Okay. Bit basic. But one thing I really like about the vulpera is how non combatative their abilities are. I wish they’d gone in this direction from the beginning but… meh. They are what they are.

Yea that could work too. If any racial needs replacing then they should replace the fire resist. That’s ones basic and they always have those type of racials take up a slot that could go to something more interesting.

Really I would love for all resist racials to be reworked.
