Vsync FPS cap on secondary monitor

Hello,

I recently purchased a new monitor with 144hz refresh rate to run off my laptop. I plugged it in, and my screen is tearing (expected because I have a AMD card and processor and the GSYNC is not compatible). But my issue arises with vertical sync.

Before, I had turned on vertical sync and WoW would run at 60 FPS and it would be fine because my monitor was 60 FPS. Now with my new monitor, I would like to run Vsync at the 120 FPS because of my new monitor. But when I set Vsync to on, it only runs to 60 fps on my new screen because it is recognizing my laptop screen as the primary I suppose.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to turn vertical sync on with higher refresh rates than my original monitor? Or how to bypass that and get WoW to Vsync to the secondary monitor?

Thanks!

  • Right-click your desktop and choose Display settings
  • Scroll down and select Display adapter properties
  • In the properties window click on List All Modes
  • Scroll down and choose your desired mode (e.g. 144hz) and apply

Even with vsync on, it should cap ur fps at 144 if u adjusted the card to output 144hz

You are a life saver! Thank you so much!!
