VR headsets

Anyone else using them?

Considering in buying them although there are so many different ones that I feel overwhelmed to judge which one is the most advanced and best.

Any thoughts and tips?

I apologize if this post isn’t appropriate towards the GENERAL. I did post this over the hardware/gaming section but got no response

Serious question. Do you wear glasses?

Not all VR headsets play well with glasses. and depending on your vision, you may or may not need to wear glasses UNDER the headset (which can be difficult to pull off).

Nope,

I am very intrigued by VR due to seeing some gaming and other content stuff like education etc., that I am compelled in buying them.

I am not certain if I need a console for it which I don’t have

On a somewhat related note. VR wow would be sweet.

HTC Vive is a safe bet. Pretty good headset but a bit expensive. What I’ve done personally is I grabbed a used oculus rift to start to test out the waters. You can get them second hand pretty cheap.

As far as games, absolutely try beat saber. It’s a requirement.

VR is becoming a big thing on PC. Take a look at Steam (for example). They’ve got a lot of VR games for PC.

In fact, I’d actually suggest you see if they have a forum for VR on steam. Because I know its becoming a big thing there.

Me? I’m sitting at the computer, and if I remove my glasses … its all blurry. So yeah … I’d need to find a headset that I could wear over my glasses. That’s why I brought it up.

So steam might be the GO for VR wise?

I always thought steam is very rich with VR sorts,

Honestly I watched Player 1 movie and thats what hooked me into it,

Would you recommend any good VR headset with brand wise?

I haven’t heavily looked into personally. I just know that VR games have really started to become a big thing there. I can’t suggest any headsets personally … because of my eyesight and a slight case of … well, vertigo. I’m not even sure if I COULD use them due to these things.

So … I’ll step out of this thread. Just had to point out the glasses issue and of course Steam as one source for more accurate info than I can provide.

No worries but truly thank you so much for pointing out at the Steam community for the VR sorts,

Cheers!

I have Regular Vive with full body which I use to use everyday for 1 game for 2 years. After that, I never touched my VR ever since. Was ALOT of money just to buy those. It is a very new experience instead looking at the monitor. You might feel sick, light headed, dizzy, if playimg for many hours you’ll see visions of the game that you think your in there but your not, when you fall from the sky or off a cliff, sometimes you will get butterflys in your stomach till you get use to it which everyone experience it differently.

And if your going for a VR. I experienced couple brands which the newest Vive right now have best sensors so you’ll not lose tracking often. If you want to go little cheaper, try oculus but sensors are garbage but controllers are wonderful. Just search up what you think suits you best and have at least play room bc of those sensors can be bugger sometimes

Also. Make sure your pc can handle it first which it does hog alot of resources.

3-D movies make me migraine. I think I will avoid VR to prevent the same.

I would strongly suggest testing them out somewhere.
I own vr, but can’t use them. 10 min. and getting dizzy and nauseous. I’m not the only one from what I hear.

I got a Dell Windows VR headset with my laptop I got and it’s fun but feels like you have to look crossed eyes or like trying to look at an object just inches from your face.

Some games are fun that’s for sure but also depends if you got room to swing/move your arms all around you. Haven’t got to try walking around the room since I don’t have a big empty room for that.

I’d stay away from the vr headset that is owned by facebook. :speak_no_evil:
