For all manner of PvP should there be a surrender or white flag option? When a majority (Two Thirds) carries a white flag, the BG, RBG, EBG, should end. Currently, when a BG is going bad, using too much time for a loss, the only two options are to wait it out (detrimental to gearing progression), switch characters, or alt-F4 / switch games. Therefor, a surrender option is a good alternative to being forced to change characters or games.
that is actually a good idea, so long as it wasn’t abused
Win or “loss” trading could be a potential problem but if it wasn’t exploited, it’s good idea
Too many people give up already.
What about victory or death don’t you understand?
The issue with pugs is PVP being no exception in WoW or other games for that matter. They tend to have a very high failure rate and last thing needed is draining screen time. WoW being very KPI driven, one needs to bail as needed. Having a white flag system is certainly a better option to having mass quits. Having been a retail manager for a big box store employing 350 - 450 people, one learns that sixth sense on exactly when to give up on a person or group. Typically, I know within 2 minutes if a BG is going to make it or not. After 2 minutes, it is either going to be a win, loss, or war of attrition. At 2 minutes, I mostly go to 5 minutes before deciding to stay or go. The exceptionally bad ones, I ditch at 2 minutes or immediately if a bad backfill.
I just play until it’s over. I don’t often see mass drop outs in random BGs but it really depends on the time. Different crowds and all that.
Different issue is how toxic people are in solo shuffle and basically anything rated. I think they should remove names and all chat functionality in shuffle.
Counterpoint: BGs are literally a no-stakes just for fun game mode. Applying KPI to them isn’t appropriate, and you’re mostly trying to justify the fact that you leave BGs.
I found that before 2 PM CST is the ABSOLUTE worst time to que. I would actually advise NOT to que in the mornings just to save time. If you are okay with spending 41 minutes in WG earning 160 HK, by all means. At the end of the day, best way to cap conquest weekly is join EBG premade groups. You only need to play 5 a week, maybe 6 with a 80% win rate.
Alterac Valley Maniacs - Horde
Ruthless Renegades - Alliance
They both typically start running premades after 6 PM, CST with AVM leaning more to later hours. Both have Discord and in-game guilds; however, use of both are entirely optional. The main drawback is having to use prime time always to run EBGs.
What is hurting me the most is being out of town for 6 weeks missing much of Season 2 leaving my characters still with Season 1 gear being replaced. Now with the recent stat changes, only thing to run are premades. Probably just going to stop at 2 characters , 1 getting upgrades, other does not get upgrades.
