Vol'jin possibly in Emerald Dream patch?

So in Shadowlands Vol’jin’s soul is undergoing transformation into a Loa in Ardenweald. Since Loa and Ancients are reborn into the Dream does this mean we could see this storyline progress in the supposed Emerald Dream patch?

Oh no please don’t make Vol’jin have anything to do with the Emerald Dream

Hehehe…

T-rex vol’jin could be fun though.

Why not though?

Vol’jin is a Horde character. Those never matter in neutral content. I rather have Rezan back instead of him since his story is over.

Except it isn’t over…

Whenever he shows up I hope he has a great model.

Please don’t mix Vol’jin in with the Emerald Dream content. He’d only get shoe-horned into a second banana role to support Tyrande and the night elves.

Let him have his own frickin’ story with it’s own frickin’ resolution.

Don’t get your hopes up.
Any time nature is even remotely involved, night elves steal the entire show.

He and Bwonsomdi got their quests in Ardenweald without Night Elves butting in to interfere. If they can do it in their worst expansion ever then they can do it again in the future expansions too.

Ye, he and Bwonsamdi got like three quests and the night elves stole the show after Vol’jin was (continuously) retired for a decade.

iirc Vol’jin will replace Rezan as the Loa of Kings.

It totally is. He was Warchief for 5 minutes and then came nothing. Rezan was just beginning and he died for no reason. That is much more important then Vol’jin could ever be.

Still, three quests with no night elves in them is still three quests. I do agree that they do need to conclude Vol’jin’s quest already though.

Again, with no night elves.

No such luck.
Why is it that you believe they shoved Malfurion in the same type of pod they put Vol’jin in, and later stated it’s to give Malfurion a power up?

Nu-Blizzard does not feature the Horde.

Like I said, if they can give Vol’jin three quests in Ardenweald, where the winterqueen clearly has nelf favoritism going, yet still have no night elves in it, then there’s no reason to believe they won’t have him featured in quests without night elves.

Nu-Blizzard just had a quest chain featuring Baine and it didn’t have a single Alliance personality present, except maybe Alliance players.

Next patch we’re getting more Baine, plus Rexxar, Rokhan, and Chen. Still no Alliance that I am aware of.

They clearly still feature Horde.

The Horde will never matter in the neutral plot. The past three expansions are proof of that.

Vol’jin is a Darkspear Troll. The Emerald Dream is a loose and distant cosmic concept that’s stuffed with Titan/First One, Green Dragonflight and Kaldorei aesthetics, lore and philosophies, for which Troll fans generally have little love

Leave the Emerald Dream to Kaldorei fans, I’m sure they’ll enjoy it (I mean, I guess so ? I know even some of them tend to grow tired of all the Cenarian-centrism and how it overshadows the other aspects of the Kaldorei society.)
I won’t enjoy it. Trolls have their own afterlife, their own gods, their own criminally unexplored cultural motifs and spiritual ways. Tie Vol’jin to De Other Side, to voodoo, to Bwon’samdi, to Rezan, tell a story about how he must find the right balance between his ascension to basically Loahood, the position he is to occupy within the Trollkind as a whole, and his loyalty to his tribe and to the Horde

But please keep Vol’jin away from the Emerald Dream

Having to suffer my way through Ardenweald just to get some Troll content was painful enough

If I could entertain the thought for a second, I would say that the Horde desperately needs more connection to the cosmic forces if they are going to be important elements later.

While the loa and the trolls culture is important, from a cosmological standpoint rather than a cultural standpoint, the loa fall on the side of life. Life as a force, is something that has been tied very closely to the Night Elves through the Emerald Dream, Cenarius, druidism, etc.

Additionally, trolls and elves are distant relatives, with the Night Elves evolving from trolls due to the waters of the Well of Eternity.

All of this makes the idea of tying the two together in a plotline that revolves around the Emerald Dream, a realm that essentially tied to life, seems like an obvious choice for them to go with.

Personally, I would be interested to see where the loa intersect with your average wild god that regularly connects to the Emerald Dream, given their similarities.

I think with how the lore is currently written, there’s no way to avoid it. Loa and wild gods are essentially interchangeable, and the Emerald Dream is related to how they reincarnate. If Vol’jin’s becoming a loa, then naturally he’ll be tied to the Emerald Dream.
