Anyone know why my voidwalker is no longer holding threat?

they nerfed the hell out of voidwalker a few expansions ago. if he DOES manage to gain threat he’ll get shredded.

VW hasn’t been useful for threat for a few expansions really , they nerfed it and have never looked at it again.

My partner complained about this too. He did a T8 delve last night and his VW couldn’t hold aggro at all. He wasn’t having issues last week, apparently.

I hate my SP now, not sure what they did to them but I can’t get her to do half the dps she did a few weeks ago.
VW is essentially only good for holding one mobs agro consistently. It’s taunt is on a 10 sec CD.
If you need a pack on it, you need to pick the mobs off one by one while he aoe’s them to hold them.
Voidwalker has been total trash for a long time now, I prefer using the felhunter or the shivarra honestly.

Blueberry didn’t hold threat for crap back in vanilla either.
Never understood why a demon from the Twisting Nether is weaker than some hunter’s animal they grabbed from the nearby forest.
Yeah on my warlock I switched to demonology just to have a pet that keeps threat and does damage in one. I enjoy the voidwalker but it just doesn’t cut it anymore

Is the voidwalker taunt spell on your pet bar?
Did you right click on torment and make sure the little yellow lights are going around the Icon, so it’s on Automatic?
Flies around looking for phone booth to change back to Biggermusic ( darn what did they do with all the phone booths?)
The problem with the voidwalker is that it doesn’t do very much damage and doesn’t generate very much threat. It’s very easy for the warlock to rip threat off of it and get aggro. Demonology’s pet does more damage and a large portion of demonology’s damage is through the pet which helps it generate more threat. It’s the same reason BM hunter’s pets are very good at keeping threat.
Correct me if im wrong, but thats also why misdirect sucks for BM hunter compared to the other specs. As a BM hunter, your pets hold more of the aggro than you as a player, and misdirect only cares about the aggro created by the player and not pets right?
The Blueberry has been a joke of a “tanking” pet since Vanilla.
Even with his taunt a lock doing their rotation can pull threat regardless of single target or packs of enemies. A single crit can cause him to lose threat sadly , and forget about using chaos bolt as that’s an instant threat pull regardless of crit.

You gotta let him attack for a few seconds and gain threat before you start spamming chaos bolts
Nah, he actually can tank well but the thread generation from him is poor. Soulburn with health funnel makes him tanky as hell, once he actually tanks.
It’s to promote shopping locally. Voidwalker’s poor threat is because it’s taxed heavily as it’s from far away.
