Void Torrent removed? NO please, give it baseline

Void Torrent was not removed, it just competes with Shadow Crash as a talent.

I really like Void Torrent, but man it either needs a damage buff or some additional interaction with our kit.

Yeah, or maybe go further and have it just extend the duration of all active major cooldowns, including DA/VF/fiend/bender. I think one of the main problems with Void Torrent is that it is very intrusive into our rotation, so having it create some breathing room would help.

Another idea is that any talent that buffs Mind Flay should also buff Void Torrent. Just like how we have talents that buff Mind Spike and Mind Blast even if we don’t talent into Mind Spike, they could do the same with Void Torrent.

Or maybe they could do both. I donno.

I think Void Torrent should remain more of a “enhancement” ability. It already has a cooldown and its a single target channel just like Mind Flay and Insanity. I think Void Torrent should be something different.

So your idea to extend the duration of all our cooldowns sounds like a cool fun fit for it.

However… I strongly suspect that DA and Void Eruption will NOT be able to be taken at the same time. Either a Switch talent (What I think would work best) or locked in other ways OR Void Eruption removed outright.

So Void Torrent could extend DA/Voidform, Fiend + gain lots of insanity. I think that would be enough. But that means its lackluster outside of DA/VE & Fiend cooldowns. So maybe it can extend all dots on all targets by X as well.

Something like this…

  • Void Torrent
    Channel a torrent of void energy into the target, dealing (306% of Spell power) Shadow damage over 3 sec and extending the duration of all your active Shadow Word: Pain and Vampiric Touch spells by 1 sec each time it deals damage.
    During Dark Ascension or Voidform, extends the duration by 2 sec each time it deals damage.
    Generates 60 Insanity over the duration.
