stuff marked as “unique” can’t be put into void storage.
i use it to store stuff which i want to keep, but don’t have bank space for.
things like fun “on use” trinkets, non-toybox toys, or sentimental pieces/unobtainables.

I should probably do that also. My bags and bank are always notoriously full for no reason lol.
Sure I could cram some things into the void storage.
All of my Legion legendaries and obsolete items you can’t get in the game any more go in mine.
Things like the reusable water vial from Vanilla for MC, old Shen’Dralar librams, etc. Things that you don’t want to get rid of but also don’t want to sit permanently in your normal bank eating up half of the space.
My main issue with Void storage (aside from the idiotic mechanic of it stripping enchants, gems and augments from the items) is that the Alliance Void Bank NPC Vaultkeeper Sarniv in the WoD garrison is apparently hopped up on Kaja Cola 24/7 because he refuses to stand still for 2 seconds while I actually try to deposit or withdraw items. I litterally have to follow him around while simultaneously trying to select items and hitting the transfer button because if I stand still after talking to him and opening the interface, he will walk away 2 seconds later and close the window.
Except for the unique stuff that can. Seriously, they really need to fix the consistency of what can and can’t go into Void Storage. Also, is there really any logical reason for us not to be able to stash unique items into void storage. I mean, isn’t the whole point of it supposed to be a personal long term place to put things you want to keep but don’t use any more/rarely use ever?
like what?
if it’s “unique-equipped”, it’s not the same as “unique”.
yes…
the point of unique items, is that you can only own one at a time.
if you were able to put them into void storage, you’d be able to hold more than one at a time, which would defeat the point of them being unique.
Its for people who are really bad at bank management so they can just throw everything they think they’ll use into Void Storage and then forget about it until next expansion.
I wish void storage would drop some restrictions and stop blocking certain items. I have the original fist weapon set from vanilla and the storage won’t let me me store. I don’t want to delete such a rare item, so it sits in my main bank.
I use it for things like tabards that arent available anymore (my Theramore one for example) but which I don’t want to delete. I also have a few items in there for sentimental value (My Abracadava staff that I wanted so badly from ICC) and so on.
And yes, you can store the Legion legendaries, but Im fairly sure you cant store the artifacts.
I store all my gaudy christmas sweaters in there.
I store armor sets in it that I am working on completing but that often don’t show up in the “Sets” tab. Fortunately, you can fit an entire set of armor in a single column of Void Storage, so it’s easy to see which pieces you’re missing. Also, I have tons of cosmetic stuff I farmed from holidays over the years in there plus general memorabilia items.
This was complained about from day one of WoD. Never been fixed.
The NPC’s in the Oribos airport reference Void Storage, which I found incredibly interesting for two reasons.
The ethereals were the NPC’s around the Void Storage area. I wonder if they will make an appearance in Shadowlands? They are strikingly similar to both the Brokers and the… Oribos airport janitors or whatever they are supposed to be. What ARE they? What do they even do??
Ever since the collections tab debuted we have had literally NO need for Void storage. It’s weird that they would bring it up at all.
They say something along the lines of “You should see what these mortals keep in their Void Storage.”
Which makes me think the ethereals have been to the Shadowlands, and also makes me think that my bank info in Azeroth has been made public to prying eyes.
I looked in my Void Storage and saw what I had in there and it brought up some good memories and good times. But Void Storage is a relic of the past.
It’s really not. It’s a great place to store my legion legendaries that I sometimes use for TW, and can’t delete. Not to mention the holiday stuff I have.
I cleaned out my bank space a few expansions ago (I had REAL relics of the past in there) and that stuff you mentioned is the only stuff in my banks. I don’t recall if you still have to pay for Void Storage withdrawals/deposits but that’s the main reason I stopped using Void Storage.
I think it’s good you still have a use for it but I still think it’s dated.
With the changes in SL, the Legion Legendaries are now just stat sticks at this point. If you’re making TW sets (like I do) there are numerous items for pretty much any slot a Legion Legendary would go that have procs or other on equip effects which haven’t been disabled and still work normally in TW.
But yeah I’ve pretty much transferred all of my legion legendaries , old tabards and other items no longer available in the game (T0 sets, Vanilla Naxx and ZG gear, pre-Cata Quest rewards from zones that were completely altered and had the quests removed/broken, etc) into void storage.
They still can’t be deleted and I am not losing 20+ slots to them in my regular bank.
