When this was added it was super useful for anyone that cared about mogging, but with the wardrobe it is near useless now to the point that they didn’t even add a new vender for it in the BFA main hubs. Instead of just fazing it out you need to relax the restrictions on it so it can actually be useful.
First and foremost, you can’t store unique items inside of it. So my Brewfest Stein for example can’t go in there because of this. I am never going to take my Brewfest Stein out of my bank, but am also never going to delete it either, the void storage would be perfect for these sorts of things. I have SO many things clogging up my actual bank that I want to keep but don’t want to take up actual useful space in my bank.

I’ve dropped suggestions in-game and on the forums over the years about this same thing
The rules aren’t very consistent either. I can put the WoD legendary ring in, which I would think would be unique, but I can’t put the legendary Thori’dal in there because it’s “unique”. Oh and the non-destroyable artifacts (that I’m sure the HoA will soon join)… those are a waste of bag/bank space.
There’s a bunch of other examples of this as well. It’s seems so random.

Is this the idiotic reason we can.t throw artifacts in?
We can’t void em, sell em or trash em.
Unless they’re made relevant in the next expansion we all just lose 3-4 slots.

I can put non unique, non stackable things in there like for example Wyrmtongue’s Cache Keys, but I can’t put in my 2 bindings of the windseeker that I will never get around to as I already have TF on another toon.

I’d really like to see void storage made into an account (or at least same-faction/server) bank where you can transfer soulbound items to your other characters.
I farm old raids for transmogs all the time, but I constantly get items that my class/character cant use, but are soulbound. This means I dont get the transmog unlock - but if i could use void storage to send those items to another character on my account that can use them, it’d unlock the mog.

Oh! Like a Diablo stash? Intriguing.

Thankfully on all my future chars i skipped those quests so I dont have that problem.
That’s what I thought too - but I doubt Blizz would ever do that. If they figured that’d be okay, then we wouldn’t even have things being bound to people based on armor type as a mechanic. It’d just be if you looted something on your priest that’s plate that you don’t already have, it’d wind up in your Wardrobe for your players to begin with.
Blizzard wants people to have to farm old content on their other characters for the mogs they want, rather than just running it on a bunch of toons and profiting regardless of goal.

My money is blizz forgot this was a thing…

I completely forgot that even existed lol, I am curious what I have in there
There is talk of phasing void storage out? I was hoping they would expand it.
Even though our appearance tab contains all of “gear” I still hold on to the actual items for a lot of the sets and items I have collected over the years.
Me too. It defeats the soulbound concept. If they ever went that route, things could just be mailed.
Not entirely, it still doesnt allow you to trade soulbound items to other players, only your own characters

Void storage slots should just be merged with the bank.

Which is the point behind my other statement. If Blizz was fine with that, you’d just have things automatically added to your wardrobe. The point being that void storage in this equation is nothing more than a middle man that’d serve no greater purpose because it’s completely bypassed by an already account-bound feature of the game.
i’d settle for it to function account-server wide bank.
pay a few gold to throw herbs/ore into it and pay a few gold to withdraw it on any character on that server.
be nice to be able to stash all these things in one place i can access across characters, instead of logging in to alts to find which one has my mats and then mail it to whomever.
it’ll add a nice QoL feature for players while adding a way to sink gold out of the economy, which i feel blizzard is trying to do.

Yes this would be awesome. Even if it did not allow soulbound items to be transferred, it would be great to dump all my mats, especially from scrapping, into an account wide bank. I’d pay some gold to get access to that for sure.
It’d be so useful and save a lot of time. Considering that we can already instantly mail things to characters, why not just make a quicker, more manageable and fluid system.
