What is the purpose of Void Storage other than sentimental value placed on old items!?
I propose that Void Storage has more purpose, specifically making old content Trans Mog turn account-wide/bound to account once placed into the vault. This way when Im participating in Holiday events like Hollows Eve and the Horsemans Helm drops on my Warlock than I could place the item in Void storage and it now becomes available tranmog for my Paladin.
Another example, when im farming Black Temple for Bulwark of Azzinoth on my Paladin and Warglaives of Azzinoth drops instead and I cant equip it because you have to be able to dual wield. Or when im doing same farm on my Rogue and Bulwark drops instead.
It just becomes wasted time and wasted good luck. Is this asking for too much?
I think VS is just an artifact of old design philosophy that was never adapted or phased out.
I keep my Legion artifacts and the busted Heart of Azeroth in there, and that’s about it.

Well i get that l, but my post is really about really cool old content transmog drops and how i cant do anything with them because i cant equip the specific item.
Void storage should just be a bank for bind on account items.
Got an boa that your character cant use?
Chuck it in void storage for an alt later down the line.
(Edit: All character would share the same void storage. Should have added that)

100% agree here.
Could even just be a shared account bank for non-bop items instead of limiting to boa’s.
Given the spaghetti though I suspect untying this from a specific character would be a nightmare.

A bank for you to chuck all your non soul bound items into so that you dont have to mail them to specific alts.
I failed hard at getting that idea in written format as you can tell from having to edit in that void storage should be shared account wide lol

Shared bank has been asked for since vanilla. I’m sure they’ll jump right on it now.
HoA has still some great usage in BFA and older content, if you’re willing to grind for it a little bit. Getting longstrider traits to make my DK not insufferably slow.

Sad thing is, I remember when it was introduced like yesterday.
“Oooh, I can finally free up bank space occupied by the 7,500 shields that I hold onto for some reason”.
Then transmog and the appearance tab rendered all of it moot.

The appearance tab, yeah, but I seem to recall Void Storage’s entire purpose was to help free up storage space because transmoging originally required you hang on to the actual items in order to transmog the appearance. Dead feature anymore, but would be cool if it was updated to be a means of central storage between characters.
This guy does legacy content. Real gamers having the ripple in space essence too.
Mine just holds old useless stuff I don’t want to throw away.
Oh… And all the morph wands from Hallows End for that one time I remember to try find someone to exchange morphs for that last dang achievement I need for that event.
I constantly forget it even exists.
They gave it to us back in the time where people had to have a set of gear for everything and a set per spec, people were filling up their banks with gear and needed more space.
I wonder if it’s time to get rid of it and just create another bank tab.
