artifact weapons that cannot be destroyed, cannot be upgraded and are forced to take a slot in the players bag or bank for the rest of time should be dealt with.
I suggest being allowed to throw them in void storage. Last time I checked 5 years ago I couldn’t even put them into void storage.
gets me thinking thou, like what IS the real point of void storage anyways? what is its INTENDED use? seems like the perfect place to throw all kinds of soulbound items that you cant delete. but like i said, last time I checked there were pretty heavy restrictions on what you can put in there.
like why add void storage when they could have just added another bank slot/tab
yeah just checked again and legendary weapons do not go into void storage because of the reason:
“you cant put that there”
and also also restricted by “cant place stackables”
one thing i really dont like about this game is how many souldbound items there are.
there was a shard in UO where you go to a magic NPC and it would soulbind/unsoulbind items for you. you got to choose what was and what was not soulbound.
how cool would that be in wow.
just imagine a future where you could farm conquest/honor/raid/m+ gear and sell it back on the auction house after “unbinding” it from yourself.
how neat would that be.
just out of speculation, how much you think a ilvl418 4/9 PvE/ ilvl450 PvP Peice of gear like a two handed weapon would go for?
im thinking somewhere around 80-100kgp at the very least. weapons are going for 1750conquests. thats a LOT of going. maybe even 120k
how much you think a 450 9/9 PvE 450 PvP peice would go for?
When transmog was first introduced you needed to have the actual item on-hand. Void Storage was introduced to help account for all the extra junk you had to hang onto for it. Its obsolete now though.
ahhhhhh okay yeah yeah I vaguely remember that part.
sounds like a great place to throw legendary/artifacts and other stuff that you cant delete at the moment, no?
i was thinking about TRYING to put in some of these Dragonflight trinkets i’ve been saving up. all kinds of really rreallly REALLY cool trinkets that do all kinds of interesting stuff that I’d like to experiment with one day. they are obsolete, standing at only item level 385 max with no chance for upgrade. but i’d still like to hang onto them, and not take up space in my bank.
probably going to go try to make a deposit in a bit, building up the courage to face the potential of crippling disappointment because I hit another invisible restriction wall that blizzard put up.
then post about it on the forms.
Yeah, void storage is completely obsolete. I suspect we will see big changes on this front soon. I saw an interview with Ion where he was talking about how the bank hasn’t been really touched since launch, and it’s probably time for an update. I think that makes sense, and one of the things to account for is stuff like this.
I think it’s a great closet for mementos that Blizz outright refuses to turn into toys for whatever reason, and any random gear mementos that aren’t flagged as unique.
I think I still have the original Argent Avenger “lightsaber” in there, among all the legiondaries and other things.
All this unnecessary complication of storage is dumb. Bags, bank, bank bags, reagent bank, void storage with its weird and arbitrary rules.
This is what we should have:
Bags
Personal Vault
That’s it. The personal vault is the combined space of bank, bank bags, void storage and reagent bank. If you want it all filled with collectables, such as artifacts, fine. If professions are your thing and you want 80% of it to be mats, fine. You can do what you like with the storage you have. No reason to make it so needlessly complicated.
If high tier gear could be sold that easily on the AH we’d almost certainly have an out of control P2W situation, where if you didn’t get enough gear during the initial rush you’ll be expected to buy Token after Token to purchase all your fill ins if you ever expect to get a decent group for anything
Heck, it’s probably why they had to add this whole new baroque crafting system to Dragonflight. They want you to be able to get items crafted for yourself but if they didn’t do the whole “BOP but you can get a work order” thing next thing yep, you’d probably be expected to afford full 447 off the AH or you can just go weep in the solo corner with all the other “low geared plebs.”
No thanks, I can play Black Desert if I want to see an economy like that. (And it actually works better there because outside of high end PvP - something you know you have to be a whale if you want to get into it seriously anyways - BDO is super incredibly solo oriented, and nobody cares if you’re behind the curve for solo content. If anything, it’s actually easier being behind the curve since you have just about zero competition for appropriate farming spots even though it’s an open shared world a la D4 …)
everything would be crazy cheap on the AH because everyone would be loading the AH with tons of stuff bring down the price because supply would skyrocket while demand stays the same.
I actually used void storage for the first time in years. All my DF profession tools are getting put in there in case I ever have a need for them again.
