Yikes, we get the version thats unusable in arena???
Void shift was usable all mop until the very very very end when we had full gear & survivability was better
Not having void shift in arena removes like half of spriest survivability. I doubt they are even viable without it.
I hope its an oversight and not intentional.
Without it shadow will struggle to compete in arena. The 6 minute cd version is needed for earlier seasons of arena.

The design intent was to take it away from competitive PvP for Shadow. It was way overpowered in 3s. Shadow, a dps spec that had other defensives wasn’t designed to have an instant lay on hands-like ability. Just like how they weren’t intended to be able to dispel immunities without giving up a glyph slot.

No, they were designed with it in mind until the very last patch lol
Full geared stats in LATER seasons they can survive better and losing it isnt as big of a deal near the end of the xpac. I mained spriest, it was not overpowered aside from the pet bug on launch.
Disc can still use it lol.
Shadow priests are the kill target ALL xpac long. I was maining it as one of the highest spriests at the time. Without void shift spriest is dead in the water for viability.
It has downsides it isnt just some free LoH. Dispersion on a 1m45s cd (glyphed) with all the insane dmg going on isnt enough even with a healer behind you. You just die when disp is on cd.
For comparison every mage spec gets shatter and deep freeze baseline lmao. Like other classes are semi out of control meanwhile shadow has like 2 defensives and one of them is banned in arena lol.
The earlier seasons with low stats (melee dominant) require it for the spec to survive anything. Warriors get 2nd wind most op version but spriest lands in a spot of half their defensives being stripped lol. It’s going to kill the spec 100%

Yea this is really sad for spriest, I remember it being a staple of spriest all of MoP and I played spriest then. To find some of the big staple things of classes are nerfed or removed from the game makes MoP classic just not feel the same as OG MoP. Was looking forward to playing Spriest in MoP but knowing one of the main abilities i remember using all expansion wont be able to use, I will probably just play something better like warlock or boomkin. Sad stuff. Wish MoP was progressive patch to patch but Blizzard too lazy for that. Alot of things in early MoP is what people remember, Choas Wave demo lock, taste for blood warrior, alot of meta’s just skipped over and just not the same on the last patch

This screams you didn’t play OG MoP priests. It was changed in patch 5.3 for good reason. Shadow priest was over represented in 3s and was everywhere on ladder. They got further nerfs but even then they are still one of the best casters ALL of mop.
We are playing on the last patch, same as EVERY classic iteration. They are not going to change void shift and shouldn’t. This is one of the issues using the last patch as the overall balance of the classic expansion.
Spriest will be fine, it sucks but it’s fine.

dang I guess you will have to rely on your partner for peels…
“this screams you didnt play” lmao ok pal. After just telling you we did. up to 5.3 is 90% of the expansion but sure, we didnt play. Spriest wont be fine, until last patch scaling and stats clearly you cant think that far ahead. btw saying “this screams” and then gaslighting cringe af get off reddit

Void shift wasnt in the prideful or grievous arena seasons, so how is that 90%? Let alone 5.4 lasting for 14 months, but season 14 started in September 2013, Season 15 started February 2014, Void shift was nerfed in May 2013. Voidshift was an option from September 25th 2012 until May 21st 2013, not even half of the expansion, it got nerfed 2 months into Season 13, so it wasnt even a mainstay in the entirety of every season, it wasnt even an option in the vast majority of 3 of 4. So by my math, thats certainly not even remotely close to 90% of the expansion. Of the 25 month cycle that was Mists of Pandaria you could use void shift in arenas for 8 months, less than 33% of the expansion.
So yes, obviously you didnt play if you think 90% of the expansion had void shift in Arena.

Do shadow orbs regenerate in pvp too? Honestly that isn’t a bad tradeoff.
