Hi all, I stopped being a full on lore nerd years ago so i could use some clarification.
Correct me If I’m wrong but the Void lords could not enter our reality but managed to spew some of thier minions into our reality. Thats how we got Old Gods.
But Today while questing I learned that a Void lord Has evertered our reality and that they managed to consume a planet?
Where is that void lord now? what happned to them? are they dead? are they floating around in space but too far away from us to worry about? wtf? haha
Dimensius the All-Devouring was first mentioned and fought in TBC. The concept of Void Lords, not the Warlock pet that for Voidwalkers, altough Dimensius does use that model in-game, was introduced in Chronicle. Then a Xal’atath whisper implied he was a Void Lord who mainfested into reality.

I long for the day our masters can truly pass into this realm. You have only seen fragments, shadows; the faintest of echoes. Ask the Ethereals what one of these manifestations are capable of.

Void Lords are basically sapient black holes that have to constantly consume planets worth of matter to maintain themselves in material reality in a fully manifested form. As that is simply untenable, what we have ran across or heard of have been avatars, or echoes of them.

Explains why they been so desperate to turn any world soul they find into a Dark Titan, since it would act as a permanent avatar of destruction for them in our reality without needing to constantly summon it
Yeah, the Void Lords’ nature is so fundamentally “of the Void” that their presence is antithetical to existence in the physical plane, so they can only partially cross over to a very limited degree.
The Dimensius we encountered in Netherstorm was but a tiny fragment of the entire being poking through in Outland, and per Xal’atath’s whispers when she was still a blade, even the planet-ruining manifestation of Dimensius that destroyed K’aresh was just a small portion of his presence as well.
The point of the Old God plan was to create a persistent Void Titan that could warp reality around it into more Void, allowing them to cross over in full, but even without that they can still apparently create conditions in a limited area that allow them to cross over in part and cause a great deal of damage. Theoretically once they deplete local energy and matter to consume and keep themselves anchored in our reality, such manifestations probably get drawn back into the Void, which would be why Dimensius overrunning K’aresh didn’t result in a permanent foothold from which he could keep spreading his reach out across the Great Dark.

Didn’t the Void Lords send the Old Gods?
Yep and than flung them out into the great dark hoping they land on a world soul
