Void (High) Elf Paladins

While I agree with all that , using this phrase doesn’t help you any

So…do the thing that was definitely hated by the Dranei…

the all new void spec that blizzard was clearly going to announce for paladins in the canceled update livestream, duh.

Although to be honest, I expect the void elves will learn to better control the shadows and be able to wield the light someday. Similarly, I am hoping the lightforged get off their high horse soon before they become some crusading forces of destruction.

This could work in 2 different ways:

  1. There is no reason for High Elves NOT to be Paladins, as they also use the Light.
  2. They could create a zealot of the void, who is a beacon of void (like paladin but opposite), where ALL of their abilities would be dark purple instead of golden yellow, to show that they are using shadow mending and void energies to buff themselves with.

I would accept both variants.

You know, I made a similar topic. It didn’t end too well.

We are getting new skin customization for Void Elves, allowing us to be like Alleria where she has her normal High Elf skin tones yet turns all voidy when in combat.

Holy and Disc Priests are already a technicality for Void Elves.

RP is fine but we can’t just change the entire race just because of some new skin customizations.

If I squint hard enough I can pretend I’m healing with shiny shadow.

Hard no. The hardest no imaginable.

Also lol. People still RP on Emerald Dream? I thought all of the RPers left in Legion.

Stop using RP as an excuse for your ar blonde hair blue eyed pure high elf fantasy.

Yes…yes there.
WHen you become a void elf, you are cut off from the sunwell, and become of the void.
Void and light cannot interact. You explode.

Yea…lets make a complete exception of what the Paladin class is, for a race that is ripping off blood elves. Let’s completely destroy everything that TBC established.
We’re already 80% of the way there.
Why not?

no. their void elves skin color doesn’t change that and they can be holy priests yes but that isn’t canon to lore that’s just for the player. lore wise they are shadowpriests and cant be holy priests or other holy magic users the holy magic literally would kill them .

Mmm, this is interesting. So it is possible for Light-infused Paladins to give in to the Void without exploding.

No…he does not use void.
She is using death magic, not void.
Hence, her description is a corruption to unholy magic.
If you guys do the raid, she uses unholy abilities such as despoiled ground.

Many of Velhari’s abilities are a play on core Paladin mechanics such as (Un)holy Power builders and spenders,

There is even a dev note saying it is unholy not void.
Christ, you guys get so excited to see the word “shadow” damage but fail to realize DK’s use shadow damage based abilities all the time, and none of it is actually void.

This is the only way it could work. A dark reflection of Paladins. A Void Knight.

Should only be available to races that cannot be a Paladin.

Void Elves, Forsaken, etc…

Did you…just…forget the class you are posting this toon on?
Death knights are literally the opposite of paladins.
They are the literal antithesis and corrupted version you are asking for.

Exactly, that’s the only lore-friendly solution I can come up with.

No. Stop Trying to ruin void elves. You wanna be a high elf paladin you go horde.

Death Knights are fueled by necromantic and Death Magic, not the Void.

Visually, I’m thinking of something similar to a melee Shadow Priest.

I’d be just fine with it being a 4th DK spec.

We have a lore friendly solution already.
They are called DK’s.
All this lore friendly talk and its actually the opposite.

Necromantic and death magic is what opposes the light.

Void magic is simply the OPPOSITE of light, which is why they cancel each other out. They don’t try to overcome the other they obliterate each other entirely.
Hence why DK’s are described as Anti-paladins both in lore, and in gameplay

No. Its a stupid idea that is trying to create a class for a SINGLE race solely for a visual effect.

The void HATES death magic.

Light/void are opposed by death magic since its the only thing that can really “kill” them.
Light and Void dont want to interact because when they do, things explode.

Like…this is literally a case of give a mouse a cookie.
Void elves are ALREADY infused with the void, so it makes no sense to “drain a dark naaru for void power” when they already are the void power.

None of the lore arguments make sense. At all.
