I know this poste is a tit for tat post. But I wouldn’t mind this, I never understood why NE joined alliance since tactically horde was closer and the NE looked at Alliance and horde the same in wc3
I think the only way that Horde players wouldn’t feel cheated out of handing over a race to the Alliance is to get a race in return. Make Nightborne look like Night Elves, and give them all of the Night Elf options. That is a reasonable ask in this scenario.
For Nightborne I’d ask to return them to their original model. We are missing so much with them, their weapons, clothing, etc. So much wasted potential.
But if Blizz is against that, yeah, at least give them the Night Elves customization options.
Hear, hear. If I wanted a BElf I’d have made one. I understand some people don’t like playing on the opposite faction and BElf was given a lot of resources in their appearance but they already devoted a lot of customization resources for us in that direction so I hope future updates will focus on race specific customization and understand that other races might be more in need of updates.
nightborne could be the hordes theoretical equivalent to void elves. night elf model toggel with all their new customization too
I want my void elfs eyebrows replaced with tentacles, no hair just tentacles, shows leg, bam thousands of tiny tentacles, raises arm, bushy mess of tentacles flopping about!
Exactly. Have a toggle between Nightborne customizations and all Night Elf customizations. That way, the Nightborne can have multiple visual themes. They can be Nightborne theme, or they can be Night Elf theme, except on the Horde.
Mmmm… tastey model toggles. So many possibilities… multi-race LF, forsaken undead races, human models, troll models… and much more…
Yeah I wish Void Elves had that
Nzoth: all who learns the void shall receive my gift…
Blizzard: void elves can now customize their eyes to be nothing still. They don’t glow, but they do look awesome!
Take my VE for example of the eyes these are the ones only Void Elves get and they are my fav I think they are so cool, which to me tells me the visual distinction / exclusive options are what makes the cool options for each race honestly.
The Nzoth/Azshara eyes would kinda def fall into that category.
The population in SW isn’t major.
The SC (and Dalaran) have a large population.
You can see this both in the lore and with every other Dalaran citizen being an elf.
My theory is that they’re mostly not warriors…
I like some of this but missed it earlier.
Yes. Good thought.
So damn the lore?
Red eyes among Thalassians are generally representative of undeath, via dark rangers and San’layn.
Nightmare is heavily focused on corrupted nature not really something you’d see for void elves imo.
N’zoth yellow/orange seems a better way to go to me.
Agreed tbh
The issue Magnificent is touching on is the visual distinction argument.
No one is denying other non Thalassian races have these options or saying humans are the equivalent to Blood Elves, or that because it is on a Night Elf it makes sense to have it on a Void Elf, it is specific in these conversations to Thalassians because Blood Elves the playable model that has been a core Horde race has lost visual distinction already by the sharing of the skin tones.
What race has been the generic fantasy Elf in wow? The Blood Elves in lore and aesthetic have always fulfilled this role, giving VEs the skin tones after already giving an identical model and the Hordes most popular model no less (not a half shot job like NB to NE, NB model is universally called subpar to NE it is not an identical version) , when you take those hair colors that are natural (non void hair colors) it gives that final piece of visual distinction that Blizzard themselves left for Blood Elves to Void Elves to fulfill the visual theme.
Now you could like others argue this is so unimportant however if thats the case then why does it matter if they don’t give the hair options? It is important to fulfill the full visual theme of being a generic fantasy Elf, and that is what many BE players and Horde fans who value visual distinction argue against because that is what we do not want to see given further.
You can take the hair colors and put them on a VE and BE side by side and see the visual distinction is then truly able to be 100% replicated on a VE now, the visual distinction argument holds merit whether people want to give it validity or not or we wouldn’t even be arguing about this.
Hairstyles alone is making that distinction. I also never asked for High Elf skin tones either, I liked my monster Void Elf.
But Jet black hair style is not a Blood Elf property neither kills dinstinction. Class, hairstyles and hair colors are still different.
And not much of a problem when most of the Blood Elves are blond or white haired.

I also never asked for High Elf skin tones either, I liked my monster Void Elf.
And that’s totally fair but the conversation has changed in that regard.
I would say I’m passively for a white and black hair color for Void Elves I think it makes sense for the Void theme but if it doesn’t happen because of the visual distinction the player you replied to was referencing I totally understand that angle as well it that’s what happens or rather doesn’t happen.

To be fair, void elves were only added to attempt to appease High Elf fans.
And it didn’t work so now they are having to spend the time to try and appease the High Elf community even more so. Should have just given High Elves from the start and added the void angle later. Would have saved them a lot of this headache.
As a Blood Elf I would be fine with Alliance High Elves.
Got it.
Kind of is a reason why I’ve also agreed Void Elves should not have blonde hair, or the Paladin class (If they get more customizations, hopefully are things related to them, void stuff but not huge void things like tentacles. Not in a game that clips through everything, but at least tattoos, ethereal parts of the body like the Forsaken’s bones, etc). I do think Blizzard thought it was not going to matter too much and would be accepted more than not because it is giving people a good model that’s even backed by lore for both sides.
I think the ones mot behemently against it are kinda those more invested in the factions pride or anything (Not saying this makes their opinion invalid, of course not. I’d not like to see Night Elves on the Horde for instance), but I feel the most casual playerbase, that don’t care if it’s Horde or Alliance and just plays to have fun, was even an accepted change.
I agree with what you mean and what the ones not wanting it say on hairstyle, but disagree on colors. But at the end of the day, it is true that the skin tones removed a lot of distinction.

starcursed ends
What does this mean?
Hair tips, split ends, edge of the hair.
