Void elves are looking too similar to blood elves

I mean, Void elves should never have been a thing, it was dumb, they pulled the race out of nowhere with a conviluted origin that made no sense.
But then, you don’t really get to complain about that and not question the fact Blood elves were put on the horde. People are constantly crying on that the horde has lost its identity, that its becoming ‘red alliance’ or ‘Alliance 2.0’ etc… well guess what, that’s what happens when 40% of the horde population are playing an alliance race.

The horde only lose its indentity every time blizzard pulled the stupid rebelion plot.
Before those plots all horde races ( yes even blood elves) had pride in their faction.

Wow, no sh*t. I did not know that!?! What a revelation.

They are humans with pointed ears, they are one of the core alliance races in warcraft 2 and 3, they are what drew in a lot of alliance players and arguably were the most popular part of the warcraft 3 alliance.
The Horde’s identity was as the monster race, it evolved ater wacraft 2 to no longer be the bad guys, and turned into the ‘misunderstood monster race’ but it was still rooted on the fact it let people play unconventional monster races (orcs, trolls, goblins, minotaurs).
The only reason Blood elves were put on the horde was because they needed a pretty human looking race to boost popularity. Alliance was popular, horde wasn’t, so they gave the horde a bit of the alliance to try and even it out.
Now don’t get me wrong, people got over it and are fine with blood elves being part of the horde, and by this point we have earned our place here. But lets not pretend it made sense, or that we wern’t an alliance race.
The horde’s motto was ‘victory or death’ that very concept fits with a horde swarm mentality, something blood elves do not and never will fit. they don’t follow that motto.

Obviously they look similar, they are the same race after all and that was the point. Both sides are supposed to get the High Elf aesthetic (even though right now only Blood Elves have it since Void elves still don’t have any natural hair colors). Plus Alleria still looks like a High Elf and she’s the first ever Void elf and the most corrupted by the void. Not too mention there are High Elves in Telogrus Rift and they look very normal (apart from using the death knight eye which obv was mistake never fixed). So giving Void Elves natural hair colors would make sense and again that would be the point why they are getting them so both sides have a win win with the High Elf aesthetic not just one of them.

I’m just happy to play a high elf who occasionally turns blue. At least there’s an option for you to be blue all the time IF you choose to. Now make it so someone, void or blood elf, can fly into silvermoon without being grounded in 10.0 and my journey to elf happiness will be complete.

Well Void Elves are just Blood Elves touched by the void. So they have finally learned enough to suppress the effects, just like a certain other former HE who happens to look exactly like a HE.

The Horde took that race from the Alliance. Hell, high elves were still part of the Alliance back in WoW Vanilla. So if anything this is just getting back what was always ours.

Well you literally got an Alliance race with Nightborne who are actually NEs who have been mutated by their exposure to the night well. So we got BEs who were mutated by their exposure to the void in exchange.

If that’s the best Blizzard will give us then that’s the best Void Elves are going to be.

Sigh, stop using obvious inflammatory terms.

They want High Elves, because they aren’t some made up thing by WoW players. Not ‘aka High Elves’, just High Elves.

If you want to see Alliance Blood Elves, the indeed look no further than actual Void Elves.

It’s amusing isn’t it how they conveniently gloss over this fact. Again, and again.

The creative ones will say “Yea but no one wanted Horde Night Elves.” as if that means anything. Besides, MANY people wanted Nightborne as playable.

Horde got both of the darling new races of Legion and BfA. Nightborne and Vulpera.

It’s hilarious that Alliance got Mechagnomes to pair with Vulpera. It’s like giving one faction a Ferrari and the other a Citreon CV. They’re both cars, but oh I think one is rather more desirable by the world at large.

To be honest the Void Elf design without a doubt based off the Voidbaith; technologically advanced race artificial creatures created by a infamous player character Death Knight in his own image from numerous souls 10,000 years in the speculated future.

But I see the design were given to Void Elves and the concept of artificial races were given to Shadowland denizens.

They are blood elves.

Quite literally they are blood elves as of one expansion ago that wanted to use the void. So in the end it would be accurate to people who are more and less effected by the void.

I don’t believe that’s ever been a real thing except for some small amounts of people. All the years I’ve played Blood Elves have been the most played race and no other person has ever said anything that I’ve noticed against us. It’s only been a few odd postings here on this forum where I’ve seen this.
