I dont recall that ever being said when the skin options became available in SL.

It was stated in the video interview for that vary patch.

It was more like: when we added customizations it just felt natural to give those to void elves as well.

You forgot the part where they talked about giving “high elf” options to blood elves. Your now taking it out of context when you don’t include that.
