Void elf warlock

Afflilock is basically the same minus the religious undertones, it fits better.

That is your opinion.

warlocks use so little void in game, it’s kind of a shame.

priest, rogue, and just a pinch of warlock spells are void so far. i really wish we had a class that uses void like mages/warlocks use arcane/fel, academic magical study.

Priests and Rogues are the only two appropriate classes for them.

Well, we had plenty of shadow spells to boot. In fact, i bet those insanity-driven priest are envious about our voidwalker tanks (though alot of us would like to have jailor, even as a glyph).

If you mean having an iconic shadow/void themed spell, sadly that’s somewhat lacking for us. Soul Effigy would have been there, had the mechanics wasn’t that terrible to play with. For now, Drain Soul and/or Shadowbolt would be our answer for the ‘shadow/void’ theme.

Some would argue that Deathbolt fits the theme, but personally, i’d say it’s more death magic.

Careful what you wish for.

Else next we’ll be getting Void Knights - because Death Knights isn’t cool anymore, and we ‘need’ a new ally against the new Lightfused overlords.

well, all the soul-related things of warlock are probably either fel or death. the only thing that seems like void for warlock are mortal coil(still uses an old spell animation, so it’s hard to tell by looks what it is) and fear.

shadowbolt’s name comes from a time when “shadow” in wow’s lore was just a word you used for “bad”. we can see shadowbolt in game has flicks of fel green through it, meaning it is fel in nature.

it’s been a long while since i’ve played affliction, i know there’s some kind of aoe spell that could be void, but i can’t remember the animation for it. corruption and agony seem to be fel, but unstable affliction must surely be death. then there’s that one talent, the big aoe siphon, that’s got to either be death or fel, since it’s draining life from souls and transferring it to the caster.

there’s voidwalker, but that’s just fel-binding a random void entity. we see with xhul’horrac that fel is particularly good at binding void creatures. though with the change to the summoning animation, it could be a void spell the warlock used to bind theirs.

and as for “void knights”, that would truly suck. maybe instead it could be that whole “class skins” thing that everyone was hooting about a while back, change either a warlock or a mage spec to be a shadowmage.

I feel like that’s a good class combination… although I’d like to point out that demons come from nether (whether they originate in the void or not) - warlocks pull demons through the twisting nether, and nether is not the void. Voidwalkers are from void though I don’t see reference any other demons we summon were. And as nether is on the edge of void and light it makes the whole void thing complicated. I agree the combo is great, though. :3

One year later and here we are.

Hehehe indeed

I absolutely see Void Elf Affliction Warlocks being a thing, but Demo and Destro seem more like a Belf or NB thing as far as elves go.
